The future of robotics may not be a smarter robot. It may be smarter teamwork. For years, robotics has focused on making individual machines more capable. I am proud to have co-authored this article with HE Dr. Mohammed Al Kuwaiti on one of the defining cybersecurity challenges of our era: preparing for the quantum age. Quantum computing is no longer a distant possibility. Recent investments and breakthroughs demonstrate that the race is accelerating, and governments are committing billions to strengthen national quantum capabilities. As the world prepares for practical quantum computing, the urgency of Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) migration is growing. Organizations must start transitioning today, not tomorrow. The UAE is positioning itself among the global leaders in this transformation. Through the UAE Cyber Security Council, the National Post-Quantum Migration Program, and strategic partnerships with the Advanced Technology Research Council, its ecosystem, and industry stakeholders, the country is building a comprehensive quantum-safe cybersecurity ecosystem while helping shape international best practices. H.E. Dr. Ahmad Belhoul Al Falasi, Minister of Sports and Chairman of the UAE Space Agency, visited the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space Physics (LASP) at the University of Colorado Boulder, where he reviewed the latest progress of the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt (EMA) and developments related to the MBR Explorer. Led by the UAE Space Agency in partnership with LASP, the Emirates Mission to the Asteroid Belt is one of the UAE’s most ambitious deep space initiatives. As a strategic partner in this national endeavor, TII contributes Emirati talent and technical expertise across critical engineering disciplines. During the visit, members of the national mission team shared key milestones and updates as preparations continue toward the mission’s planned 2028 launch. Featured in these moments are some members of the TII EMA team, whose dedication and innovation are advancing the UAE’s journey in space exploration and helping inspire generations to come.
