It seems that the msvcr100.dll was missing. I found this issue after trying the zip version of the driver and starting the Install.bat. After installing of the DLL the installation of the msi is working. It would be a good idea to check this or give an understandable error message.

Hello Karsten Malcher, Thank you for the bug report. Prerequisites for C/ODBC installation is that you have the Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 Redistributable Package installed on your system before trying to install C/ODBC. See, manual page which explains this - http://dev.mysql.com/doc/connector-odbc/en/connector-odbc-installation-binary-windows.html I consider this as minor bug i.e meaningful error message when dll missing rather than absurd message. To reproduce this issue - either try to install C/ODBC on a box where pre-requisites are not installed or just rename the dll and try to install. Thanks, Chiranjeevi.

Posted by developer: The issue is being dealt with on RE level. For the new version it is a newer version of VS runtime. (msvcr120.dll)
