After a week of conversations about investment, growth, and competitiveness, I'm more optimistic than ever about Canada's future.   It started with the launch of the Scotia Growth Institute and our commitment of more than $100 billion to support Canadian companies and projects that will help drive the country's growth agenda. At the Canada Investment Summit, and at Beyond the Summit—which we hosted alongside the Toronto Region Board of Trade and Signal Hill—there was a level of alignment around Canada's opportunity that I hadn't seen in decades.   I joined Minister Timothy Hodgson for a thoughtful discussion about attracting capital, accelerating growth, and creating the conditions for long-term prosperity. We also welcomed former prime minister Stephen Harper and Ambassador Kirsten Hillman to Scotiabank this week to speak with clients. They all shared a strong sense of confidence about Canada's path forward.   The opportunity in front of Canada is significant. I am excited to be joining the Scotia Growth Institute as Lead Strategic Advisor. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working on issues that shape Canada's place in the global economy, particularly our relationship with North American partners. Those experiences have reinforced my conviction that there is a world of opportunity available to Canada. What matters most today is our ability to translate that opportunity into stronger growth, greater productivity, and long-term competitiveness. The Scotia Growth Institute has been created to support exactly that. By bringing together research, market perspectives, and expertise from across sectors, it will examine the forces reshaping trade, security, investment, and economic growth in Canada and across North America. I am looking forward to helping convene leaders and contribute practical ideas about where Canada can compete and lead in the years ahead. Rarely has there been a more important time to think seriously about Canada's economic future. I am pleased to be part of this effort and eager to support the critical work ahead.

Hoy, 6 de agosto, Scotiabank colocó Bonos Verdes de Coca-Cola Andina, del Sistema Coca-Cola en América Latina, con operaciones en Chile, Brasil, Argentina y Paraguay, por un monto total de UF 2.500.000 (~US$112 millones) a través de la Serie J. Esta transacción marca el primer bono verde de la compañía, respaldado por un nuevo Marco de Financiamiento Verde que incorpora categorías relacionadas con economía circular, gestión sostenible del agua, eficiencia energética, energías renovables y transporte limpio.
