Our team of experts provides consulting, outsource derivative accounting and training services for firms that need to plan, execute or maintain a foreign currency, interest rate or commodity hedging program – and are the leading minds behind CapellaFX – the hedge accounting software that provides exposure tracking, trade management, journal entry preparation and disclosure reporting to manage FX and derivative accounting risks. Founded in 2000, our company was the first advisory service dedicated exclusively to corporate derivative accounting and ASC 815 compliance.

One of their main tasks was to automate the risk calculation process, which improved accuracy, reduced manual input, and sped up the process.

They also enhanced the platform’s reporting capabilities, allowing users to generate more detailed and real-time financial reports. Additionally, Elinext worked on optimizing the overall system performance to ensure it could scale effectively as the client base grew, improving load times and efficiency. Finally, they provided ongoing support and maintenance, ensuring the platform remained up-to-date and adaptable to evolving business needs.

They also refactored an existing C++ prototype, improving its architecture, scalability, and performance. Their work included integrating various systems, optimizing security, and ensuring the platform was user-friendly and responsive across devices. Additionally, they handled thorough testing to ensure the platform’s functionality, security, and performance met high standards.

What were the measurable outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

We successfully hit several major goals, including building a custom document generation module to replace an external tool — which reduced our costs and gave us more control over the process. The Elinext team also supported us in rolling out platform upgrades, refining QA workflows.

Things shifted a few times during the project, which meant lots of frequent referencing/clarification, but Elinext stayed on track and kept us updated in the loop. They offered valuable insights, especially during the transition between different project methodologies. Some additional expertise in optimizing automation testing earlier in the project would have been beneficial, but they managed to address it efficiently later.
