From the very beginning, Leobit offered us a comprehensive solution that would allow us to get products, but at the same time combine our needs around one platform. 

We were also offered several ways to optimize project costs, because we are a non- profit organization and we do not have the opportunity to review budgets and it is very difficult to raise other funds, so this customer focus helped us a lot to implement the project.

We received an app for Android and Apple devices, as well as a feedback platform adapted to different devices.

We got an app for Android and Apple devices, as well as a feedback platform adapted to different devices. Both products have a simple and user-friendly design and are easy for people to use.

From the very beginning, we were offered several ways to optimize project costs, because we are a non-governmental organization and we do not have the opportunity to revise budgets and it is very difficult to raise other funds, so this customer focus helped us a lot to implement the project.
In the process of implementation, the project manager and all the specialists involved were very understanding of the fact that we were new to the topic, and also took into account certain requirements that we had fixed for the project and adjusted the plans to the real deadlines we had.

At the design stage, it was important for us to take into account not only the technical requirements but also other policies and approaches related to working with survivors, because they are the primary audience of the products we prepared, and the designer tried to offer several options for what certain solutions could look like.

Since our organization does not have a separate system administrator or a person specializing in digital infrastructure, the developers helped us at all stages to register accounts on various services and set them up.

The tester and the project team were actively working on finalizing the products and paying attention not only to the details related to user experience, but also to how a particular step in our product might be perceived. In fact, during this cooperation, we not only received products, but also got a good understanding of how to plan this type of activity in the future, because before that our views were rather intuitive.

• We received effective integration with diverse systems, including payment systems, postal, telecommunication, and e-commerce platforms. These integrations streamlined our user's operations and improved data management.

The project management strategy was based on the SCRUM framework, including daily stand-ups, sprint retrospectives, and planning meetings. The team provided daily status updates through Jira, including remaining hours to complete sprint tasks. All daily communication processes were carried out in Slack and Google Meets. The team maintained close collaboration with the Product Owner and Business Analyst, following their precise instructions and responding quickly to feedback.

I'm the Managing Partner and CTO of KREIOS S.A R.L., a Luxembourgish IT service company founded in 2006. The original business purpose of KREIOS was the development and distribution of software products for the tourism industry. Today, the company sees itself more as a service provider that helps its customers design, implement, and support complex software products. We have, in the intervening years, developed a unique business model which pairs local experts in project management, business analysis, and software engineering with the best technical experts from the global market. Our successes include custom industrial control systems, products in the FinTech space, expert systems and all kinds of web-based business applications.

For what projects/services did your company hire Leobit?

Over the past 10 months, we have worked with Leobit on several projects involving the design and implementation of more complex business applications. This included a system for transcribing videos and audio files, a platform for calculating and managing CO2 credits, as well as various specialized applications from the public administration sector. In particular, Kate, one of Leobit's senior UI/UX experts, took a leading role in the initial design and incremental evolution of the various user interfaces to be implemented in the context of these projects.

SOLUTION

How did you select this vendor?

We posted an advertisement on a leading freelancer platform and received more than 70 applications as a result. From these, we finally selected 6 candidates to work on a test task. Leobit and Kate delivered by far the best result, both in terms of quality and value for money. Their communication was also absolutely professional from start to finish.

Describe the project in detail and walk through the stages of the project.

Most projects proceeded in such a way that we first worked out the basic requirements together in the course of a few workshops and interviews. We also looked at competing systems that were already on the market. In the next step, Kate familiarized herself with the respective business domain by requesting test accounts for similar systems and also otherwise trying to put herself in the position of the potential user of the product.

Based on this understanding, a common story map was usually designed, which Kate then used to gradually design the individual relevant screens. These were then presented to the team or the client and thus finalized step by step. The primary tools used during this phase were Clickup (as a project management system) and Figma (as a UI/UX sandbox).

How many resources from the vendor's team worked with you, and what were their positions?

Mostly just Kate, albeit we also had Uliana and Oleksandr acting as our account managers and go-to-gal/guys for all things administrative.

Can you share any outcomes from the project that demonstrate progress or success?

Unfortunately, this is not possible, as all the aforementioned projects are subject to an NDA.

How effective was the workflow between your team and theirs?

The collaboration was very constructive and went without a hitch. I don't think there is much that can be optimized here. We conducted regular video calls and shared a common backlog.

What did you find most impressive or unique about this company?

Overall, we have been and continue to be extremely pleased with Leobit and Kate's work. Above all, their willingness to dig deep into the subject matter allows them to autonomously come up with truly meaningful and well-thought-out solutions that would otherwise require the help of a dedicated system analyst.

Are there any areas for improvement or something they could have done differently?

No, really not. They are among the best 2-3 designers we have ever worked with in the entire 15 years of company history.

I’m the CEO and founder of Rush Realty, a real estate brokerage that specializes in residential homes.

What challenge were you trying to address with Leobit?

I wanted to build an in-house system that would help my agents track their production, commissions, and financials through a mobile app. I also wanted to build a company website which incorporates multiple listing service (MLS) integrations with our CRM system.

SOLUTION

What was the scope of their involvement?

First, they built an iOS and Android app that links to our CRM, which is Follow Up Boss. They also used Monday as the single source of truth (SSOT) for all of the deals. Through that integration, the app can pull information on agent production. This includes how many emails each agent sends, how many deals they close, and how much they earn in commission.

Then they began to build our website, integrate our Bright MLS, and link it to our CRM. On top of that, they are setting up our email marketing system. Now clients can find properties they’re interested in through our website.

What is the team composition?

I worked with 4–5 people, including a project manager, Android developer, and iOS developer. However, I spoke with the backend developer most.

how did you come to work with Leobit?

I found them through Upwork. Several companies applied for the job, but I chose Leobit because they seemed to have more of a team structure. I wanted a partner that could provide a whole team to support the project. I thought if we only had one person working on the project, it would drag on.

Leobit also seemed to have a good track record when I researched them online. They had a good grasp of what I wanted to do.

We’ve spent a little more than $25,000.

What is the status of this engagement?

We started working with them in November 2020 and the project is ongoing.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

So far, I’m happy with their work. When we reviewed the app, I identified glitches and assessed how smooth and native the app felt. I found very few issues, but Leobit was quick to resolve them. I asked my agents if they were satisfied and if they experienced any issues.

We went through a very similar process for the website, but I also wanted to make suite the information was transmitted properly.

How did Leobit perform from a project management standpoint?

When I first met with the project manager, I let her know what I wanted. Then she outlined a plan to let us know what would happen as we moved forward. She created a timetable and clearly has a firm grasp on everything that is going on. So far, they’ve delivered ahead of schedule.

We’ve used Slack to ask questions and collaborate, but we also use Trello. They regularly update Trello so I can see how the project is progressing. As a result, I had a very good idea of how the project was progressing throughout the engagement.What did you find most impressive about them?

I’ve been impressed by their openness. They always explain what they can and can’t do and why. As we tackle new challenges, they explain how they are going to go about it as well. They listen to what I really want and provide several suggestions based on my input.

Are there any areas they could improve?

The iOS development seems to lag behind the Android development.  Whenever we do demos, the Android seems to be a little more polished and more advanced. Then when we went through the iOS version, I ask them to mirror the Android application.

Know what you want, and maintain your expectations, but be open to their guidance.

We needed a reputable outsourced company to work with us on a client project that dealt in ASP.NET development. We wanted a reliable source that could provide technical resources to the project for a specified period of time.

Most of their work involved refactoring an existing web platform to bring it up to modern specs. This meant that they took existing code and updated it or built it from scratch. 

What is the team composition?

We started with a senior-level ASP.NET software engineer, and we added a junior-level ASP.NET software engineer later on.

How did you come to work with Leobit?

I’d been speaking with them for a while and evaluating different vendors and partners. I had them in my contacts from previous conversations. 

After a number of conversations about their methodology, how they train their staff, the project management protocols they have in place, and how they treat their projects, they seemed like a good team to work with. They were always responsive. After many months of communication on different opportunities, we chose them. It was a good arrangement.

We worked together from April–October 2019.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement?

The client had to cancel the project because of issues they were facing. However, Leobit worked with us in terminating the contract early, which speaks to how good of a partner they were. 

They were always on time with diligent progress reports, and they provided answers when needed. I received multiple compliments from the client regarding the skill level of the developers that were on the project. It would have been ideal to have a successful launch if it weren’t for the client having their own issues.

We communicated via email. Leobit used Asana, per the request of the client.

What did you find most impressive about them?

They communicated expectations very well.

No, nothing comes to mind that I’d have them improve.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

The more detailed and accurate vision you can provide, the more value you will get from Leobit. They’re good at finding gaps in the details to get to a certain goal. Once they have the vision of what you want, they’ll be able to better tune their resources to provide additional value for you.

What challenge were you trying to address with Leobit?

We needed to augment our development team. We’re an agile software development organization and receive a lot of feature requests like all software companies. We needed to address them as rapidly as possible as well as handle support issues.

What was the scope of their involvement?

We went through an interview process with Leobit, looking through CVs and resumes. We then added two Ruby on Rails developers to our team. One was also a full stack developer.

One developer handles integrations. He managed our Stripe and QuickBooks integrations. The more senior developer helps to augment our current feature set. He not only stabilizes it but also adds customer-facing features when needed.

What evidence can you share that demonstrates the impact of the engagement? 

They were able to start contributing on day one with high-quality work. We can tell that they’re bright developers through their code and communication. We’re happy and view this as a long-term partnership.

How did Leobit perform from a project management standpoint?

We’re a scrum shop. They meet with our scrum master and product manager daily. Their team joins us in our daily sprints and augment our team. They work closely with our other developers and complete user stories.

They’re communicative and take ownership of their work. If we find that a feature's broken in staging, we note that in a card but don't expect them to fix it the next day. However, they fix it immediately because they take pride in their work. I don’t get that with other vendors.

What did you find most impressive about them?

Their developers have great communication skills. They’ll push back because they want to complete tasks the right way, which I appreciate. Our contract’s a fixed price, but their team goes above and beyond.

We’re a busy product team, so we might not always have fleshed out cards. Their team works well with little information but will also ask questions when needed. They’ll let us know if they can’t complete a task without more information.

No, I’m happy with how everything’s going.

Do you have any advice for potential customers?

It helps to have experience with outsourcing development. Also, follow their process. I’m impressed with Leobit’s placement process because we weren’t just thrown developers. Rather, their organization finds you what you need.
