Students learn the basics of programming by drawing shapes on screen with Tracy the Turtle. Turtle Graphics is a beginner-friendly way to explore programming concepts visually and creatively.
No experience is needed; it is written for complete beginners. The activity can be shared with students to complete by just sharing the activity link, no account set up needed. To save student work, have students make a CodeHS account, login, and then the teacher assigns the activity to an existing CodeHS section.
Nothing in the course restricts it to a particular week. It is a one-hour activity that works whenever you want an introduction.
