I had an absolutely wonderful time at Monkeyland, describing it as one of the highlights of their Dominican Republic vacations. The adventure began with an exciting safari truck ride through the lush mountain jungle, where I felt the thrill of the open-air vehicle navigating tropical terrain to reach the 5-acre ecological sanctuary. Once inside the squirrel monkey habitat, I was delighted when the playful monkeys immediately jumped onto my shoulders and arms, creating magical photo opportunities that had me laughing with pure joy. I particularly loved feeding the curious and intelligent monkeys from small bowls of fresh fruit, watching as the adorable creatures fearlessly interacted with other visitors. This cultural component added extra value to my experience - I also enjoyed sampling freshly made Dominican coffee, cocoa, and coconut oil while learning about organic processing methods for local products like vanilla and cinnamon. I also appreciated exploring the beautiful botanical garden showcasing native Dominican flora, making the 4-5 hour excursion a perfect blend of wildlife adventure and cultural immersion. I left with dozens of incredible photos and unforgettable memories, already planning to recommend this unique experience to friends and family back home.
