I'm not completely sure to understand your question: as I read N3000
(not a trivial task, because you always have to mentally "de-conceptify"
the specifications, for now), both engines and distributions have both
operator<< and operator>>, as far as I can see (26.5.2.3 and 26.5.2.5),
which we do provide. I don't think we can do much more / better until
Walter makes available the updated specifications...
