Can't connect with Claude Code

This is the format:

Over a minute and still can't connect.

Even tried it with email and pass.

Reporting same issue. Seems like a claude issue, the MCP works with opencode.

In my case I used DIRECTUS_USER_EMAIL and DIRECTUS_USER_PASSWORD. When used with Claude Desktop I even had to add absolute paths to node. And since Gemini is very strict about the type setting and the "-y" flag, I added those, too. So the final configuration in my case looks like this:

A word about Gemini:
Unfortunately, Gemini does not handle multiple configurations of Directus mcp servers well. It prepends the main key ("directus") to each function (e.g. "directus__read_collections"), and of course those methods are not recognised.

Thanks for the details and the reports on this. Local MCP support seems to vary wild among clients and npm / node issues seem to cause most of the trouble.

As of 11.12.0 (released yesterday), we've now got MCP support inside core. It's remote instead of local so hopefully less connection issues. I'd recommend giving it a try because it does also have expanded capabilities. You can read more in the docs here.
