If your school isn’t already recognized in the system and you submitted a school ID manually, the review process can take longer than usual because it requires additional verification. In many cases, applications are approved within a few days, but manual reviews may take several weeks depending on the volume of requests. Since your status is still “Pending,” it likely means your application is still under review rather than rejected. You could try contacting GitHub Education Support directly and politely ask for an update on your application status. Hopefully you’ll get approved soon! |

Yeah, it can take longer sometimes, especially if your school isn’t already registered with GitHub. Since you uploaded your school ID manually, they probably need to verify it themselves, which slows things down a bit. I’d say just wait a little more or maybe contact GitHub Education support if it’s been almost a month. They usually reply and can tell you if they need any extra documents. |

Twenty-two days is rough, but it's not unusual for your situation. The fast track (3–4 days) only works if you have a verified .edu email. You uploaded a student ID instead, so your application went into manual review. That queue moves slowly. Someone has to actually look at your ID and verify three things: your name matches, the school name is there, and the dates are current. Since your school isn't already in GitHub's system, they also have to cross-check whether your institution is even legitimate before adding it to their database. That all takes time, and the queue's backed up. There's also a chance the review flagged your submission because of something like a VPN, or a mismatch between your GitHub profile name and what's on your ID. Even small discrepancies can stall things. Don't resubmit or cancel your application. Instead, go to support.github.com/contact/education and open a ticket directly. GitHub's support page usually tries to redirect you to the forum, but keep digging—there's a "Contact Us" button at the bottom after you search for something like "manual review required." In your ticket, include:
Attach a clean copy of your student ID to the ticket. Once a human sees that, they can manually approve you without waiting for the automated system. |

Hi everyone,
