Telescoping/zoom feature should work with coredump files

Rizin offers some level of telescoping (zooming, derefencing) of some values, but it doesn't work when opening coredump files.

The feature also poorly tested and document. Both aspects should be improved as well.

Hello everyone,
This is a compelling feature that addresses a significant pain point in post-mortem debugging and analysis, which is critical for a reverse engineering tool like Rizin. I am very keen to take this on as my qualifying contribution, specifically aiming to submit a successful Pull Request for this issue before the Google Summer of Code 2026 proposal period begins, as Rizin requires a merged microtask for qualification.[1]
The core issue—telescoping failing on coredump files—likely stems from the memory access logic, such as that within rz_core_analysis_hasrefs_to_depth(), not being optimized for the fragmented, non-contiguous memory maps typical of coredump data.
My proposed approach is structured in three phases:

• Diagnosis and Mapping: I will start by tracing the execution flow in librz/core/core.c to identify the precise failure point. I need to verify how Rizin's internal I/O model handles memory access for coredump buffers and pinpoint where the dereferencing logic encounters an invalid or unmapped boundary, causing the feature to fail.
• Coredump-Aware Implementation: I will modify the analysis logic to explicitly check the session state (is it a coredump?) and implement validation routines that rigorously check against the coredump's memory map. This ensures that dereference attempts only target valid, loaded memory segments within the dump.
• Testing and Documentation: To ensure stability and completeness, I will expand the test suite with specific coredump use cases for telescoping and update the relevant documentation to reflect the feature's new functionality.[1]
  I am familiar with the C99 standard, which is the majority language for Rizin’s core.[1] I am ready to begin setting up the local environment and starting the initial diagnosis immediately. I look forward to mentor guidance on this task.
