Born and raised in Macon, Georgia, a city steeped in musical heritage, Matthew Thomas Hope grew up surrounded by the sounds of storytelling and song. By 13, he was performing in local bars, and by 14 he was writing and recording his own music, inspired by both his family’s musical roots and the city that produced legends like Otis Redding and the Allman Brothers. At 18 he moved to Nashville, determined to carve out his place as a songwriter and artist. His journey has been one of perseverance, chasing opportunities and holding fast to the belief in the power of a well-told story. Alongside his artistry, he has built a reputation as a versatile guitarist, supporting a wide range of artists in the studio and on stage. Matthew’s songs are rooted in Americana, folk & country, defined by honesty and heart. In Fall 2025, Matthew enters a new chapter with two of the most meaningful releases of his career: a reimagined cover of Just To See You Smile and his long-shelved original 'September'
