lol ty for the rec but I've already seen Saiki Kusuo but since you went to the trouble of recommending me something I'll do the same :D
especially since your PTW is tots not long enough *cough* *cough*

Based on your list we have pretty similar taste so I'll recommend Higurashi. It's one of the better "horror" animes. Hope you'll eventually watch and enjoy it!

The most likely is probably if the VN gets an official English localization. It's already fantranslated so the work is already mostly done, which is often a good reason for companies to pick up a certain VN (less time and effort required to get it out). So maybe an anime could coincide with an official English release. Other than that I can't think of much

I wouldn't say it's increased overall; just that there have been some more well-known ones in the west that have gotten adaptations recently so they stand out more. But that is also not a coincidence: spontaneous adaptations of now somewhat older VNs usually coincide with some other release to help cross-promote their sales. For Rewrite the anime came out at the same time as Rewrite+ (extended re-release of the VN in Japan) and for Dies Irae it came out shortly after the official English release was released on Steam. Unless something revitalizing happens for the likes of Dracu-Riot then the chances of a sudden anime announcement are rather slim I think

Pretty much yeah. It's been done for other visual novel adaptations in the past quite successfully (like Clannad for example)

More like you take the core story elements of the various routes and put them in the same timeline but adjust it in a way so that doing so makes sense. The most obvious part of that is cutting out the actual romance from the routes as it'd be a bit weird if he just banged the girls one after the after as if nothing happened. But sure you can do some anime-only harem-esque route too

Could also make some sort of mixed together version or Omnibus adaptation to showcase all the girls better. Being unable to adapt the lewds in an anime would be unfortunate though because those are lit
