WordPress Origin Story

My journey into web design began in the early 2000s, when I was building websites the old-fashioned way with HTML using FrontPage and Dreamweaver. I later moved to Joomla, but over time I found its workflow increasingly cumbersome and started looking for an alternative.

In 2015, I discovered WordPress with version 4.2.1 – and I can honestly say it was love at first sight. It gave me the flexibility and simplicity I had been looking for, and WordPress has been an indispensable part of my web journey ever since.

Wanting to give something back to the amazing community of volunteers behind WordPress, I began contributing through translations, helping make WordPress and its ecosystem accessible to a wider audience.

After many years of translation contributions, I am now taking the next step: contributing plugins of my own. It feels like a natural continuation of the journey that started with WordPress 4.2.1 back in 2015 – from using WordPress, to translating it, and now to building for it.
