integrated debugger is not working with devcpp 4.9.9.1

i upgraded from devcpp 4.9.9.0

when i set a breakpoint in an ordinary console mode
program and start the debugger, then the console window
is generated but it is not possible to debug anything.

there is no response to
Next Step
Step into
etc.

the only thing which is possible is to
Stop Execution

the debugger works (imperfect with known limitations)
with the devcpp 4.9.9.0 version

i use WinXP SP2,
devcpp 4.9.9.0 + wxwidgets 2.5.3
devcpp 4.9.9.1 + wxwidgets 2.5.3
wxdevcpp 4.9.9.0 (wxwidgets 2.5.3)

thanks guys
any workaround known?

Just wanted to mention that I have sort of the same problem.

If I have some code that I would like to debug, I click debug.
I'm prompted with the standard "Your project does not have
debugging information, do you want to enable debugging and
    rebuild your project?"
I press ok. It rebuilds everything. No errors. I run the
program with new breakpoints, but I get nothing.
    Breakpoints are ignored.

If I click "run to cursor" I am again prompted to recompile
with debugging information. I do and again, get nothing.
Choose "run to cursor" and again I get the same prompt
asking to add in debugging information.

    Dev-C++ 4.9.9.1
    Windows XP SP2

I want to chime in here... I have the same setup as the
above (except WinXP SP1, not SP2). I can open debug with my
console app and even get a good breakpoint set. However, I
can't add any Watch Variables. It lets me highlight and
attempt to add them... or hit the "Add Watch" button... but
they are never really added to the "Debug" tab under my project.

    I have all your problems.
    Even some more:
When breakpoints work (sometimes) after a little while
debugging, devc++ starts using 100% cpu and slows down the
whole system. Stopping debugging has no efiect. I have to
    stop and start devc++ again.
