Hey folks, I am having a very strange problem. There is a guy developing some = advanced wrapper classes around Direct sound for me with a whole bunch = of nice features. he is using VC++ to write his code, and everything is = working fine for him there. He ported it to Dev C++ and it works fine = still, but only in debug mode. What it does so far is to load a sound, = either a streaming or a static buffer, and plays it. It plays fine in = debug mode, but when I run it normally it just stands there and does = nothing. It is linking with winnm, dsound, uuid and dxguid, all are .a = files that I downloaded from the devpack server. I can't see any reason = why it would work in debug but not in release mode. Can any of you guys = enlighten me perhaps? Regards Philip Bennefall |

For an expression to be meaningful (emitted in pre-order, in-order, post-order) you must of course always emit _all parts_ of the expression. Hence, you don't have to worry about 'which' part to emit. You must emit both parts. If one half of the tree is NULL, then you must print it anyway - either as a space-filling intendation, or as a NULL message or whatever. Exactly how you print it, is part of what the assignment wants _you_ do decide/solve. How do you know when you have solved the exercise correctly? When you can read the printout, and clearly see - and restore - the original expression from your printout. But once more: how to do it is _your_ job, and shouldn't be solved by cooperation on mailing lists. You know very well that it is considered cheating - and a lot of schools can (and will) punish students for using mailing lists. /Per W On Fri, 23 Feb 2007, Jonathan Winterflood wrote: > Hi, > > Well it'd depend on how your tree was builtr. > The way I did it (in a compilation assignment) was that the since the treee > was hierarchical, print (left op right) > > eg 1+5*6/7+8 is ((1+((5*6)/8))+8) would decompose to this tree > > > | root:, > a , + 8 > b 1 + , > c , / 7 > d 5 * 6 > | > > so print a prints ( printb + 8) > > > > + > On 2/23/07, Noorez Kassam <lor...@ho...> wrote: > > > > I'm having a bit of trouble with an assignment I need to do for recursion > > and binary trees. Hi, Well it'd depend on how your tree was built. The way I did it (in a compilation assignment) was that the since the treee was hierarchical, print (left op right) eg 1+5*6/7+8 is ((1+((5*6)/8))+8) would decompose to this tree : | root:, a , + 8 b 1 + , c , / 7 d 5 * 6 | so print a prints ( printb + 8) which is ((1+printc) + 8) which is ((1+( printd / 7 )) + 8) which is ((1+((5*6)/7) + 8) just plain simple left-op-right (plus some logic for when to print a number instead of a node, or just have an extra node which is just a number) Hope it helps, Jonathan PS: Sorry for double-posting, I caught the 'Send' button instead of 'Save Now...' I'm having a bit of trouble with an assignment I need to do for recursion a= nd binary trees. I need to print an arithmetic expression tree. The struct = must be defined as follows: =20 struct TreeNode{ char op; int number; TreePtr left; TreePtr right;}; =20 =20 void in_order_print(TreePtr tree){ TreePtr currentNode =3D tree; if(currentNode !=3D NULL) { if(currentNode->left !=3D NULL) { = in_order_print(currentNode->left); } // print which data? if(currentNode->right !=3D NULL) { in_order_print(currentNode->= right); } }} =20 Since there are two fields which contain data, how would I know in the recu= rsive algorithm which one to print? _________________________________________________________________ Explore the seven wonders of the world http://search.msn.com/results.aspx?q=3D7+wonders+world&mkt=3Den-US&form=3DQ= BRE= |

I use to have Dev-C++ not doing any dependancy check at all. Instead I add a custom include to the project Makefile, where I add the dependancy rules that are important to me. You may use gcc in standalone mode to manually rebuild your dependancy list now an dthen, or you may use the same method as used by the Linux kernel, where each source file is complemented with an automatically built dependancy file. /pwm On Wed, 21 Feb 2007, Jonathan Winterflood wrote: > Hi all, > > I'm using dev-cpp to develop > a program using gtkmm, and the makefile generation is giving me some grief.... > I had to activate the complete dependency check to make dev-cpp recompile > all influenced files within my project, but doing this also makes it check > every gtk-related (and standard, actually) header file. > If it were only the standard headers it would be OK, but with gtk, it > becomes rather time-consuming. > > Is there a way to instruct dev-cpp to ignore the #include<...> directives > when running the dependency check? > So far I've been manually cleaning the makefile and then instructing dev-cpp > not to generate anything, but it's a bit of a pain... > > Thanks, > Jonathan > > -- > <Morpheus> linux, c'est une question de VI ou de MORE > |

Hi all, I'm using dev-cpp to develop a program using gtkmm, and the makefile generation is giving me some grief.... I had to activate the complete dependency check to make dev-cpp recompile all influenced files within my project, but doing this also makes it check every gtk-related (and standard, actually) header file. If it were only the standard headers it would be OK, but with gtk, it becomes rather time-consuming. Is there a way to instruct dev-cpp to ignore the #include<...> directives when running the dependency check? So far I've been manually cleaning the makefile and then instructing dev-cpp not to generate anything, but it's a bit of a pain... Thanks, Jonathan -- <Morpheus> linux, c'est une question de VI ou de MORE |

Hi, Usually a better idea to use perl, php, python for cgi.Unless ofcourse you want to develope server extensions. You could also use Servlets. Its a good idea to print the errors you are facing in dev-c++. By the way anybody know what the out put of the following program will be. #include <stdio.h> #define print(a){printf("%d",a*a)}; main() { print (a); } Thanks Regards Shivakanth AIG donia <aig...@ya...> wrote: Sorry for this Question But I still Can't understand alot of errors in DEV-C++ , alot of errors refer to unavailable errors Another Question, Can Dev-C++ help me to develop CGI scripts? -liconv specifies a library which apparently you don't have. the library is iconv and consists of routines to convert character encodings. It's apparently not a part of the standard MinGW distribution. You have to install it separately. Take a look at the following page where among other things the procedure is described: http://clbianco.altervista.org/gnupg/eng/gnupg.html Good Luck! No, you do not want anyone to translate it to assembly for use with gcc. They guy returned assembler code just to poke fun at you. Based on the looks of the code, he didn't even bother to really write in assembler. He wrote the code in C/C++, requested the compiler to generate an assembler listing and then took the assembler instructions and pasted into the functions, instead of the original code. Exactly what did you originally request help with coding? /pwm On Sat, 17 Feb 2007, Philip Bennefall wrote: > No, I did not request him to write assembly code and thus, I did not tell > him what compiler I was using either. he compiled a test executable and I > thought it was such a simple task and I had seen a working example as well > as the code, so I paid him. No, I did not request him to write assembly code and thus, I did not tell him what compiler I was using either. he compiled a test executable and I thought it was such a simple task and I had seen a working example as well as the code, so I paid him. Because asm isn't examply part of the c++ standard. The use of embedded assembler is a compiler-specific extension, and different architectures and/or compilers can use different formats. VC uses the Intel standard for writing x86 assembly instructions. gcc uses the AT&T syntax. See http://www.ibiblio.org/gferg/ldp/GCC-Inline-Assembly-HOWTO.html#s3 Different compilers also have different calling conventions, so even if the assembly code is modified to the correct dialect, you can't be sure that the two compilers uses the same registers or parameter passing conventions. Did you request him to write in assembler? If you didn't specifically requested it, then the delivery was not according to agreement. If you did request an assembler solution, then you should have specified the target, i.e. processor, OS, compiler, ... /pwm On Sat, 17 Feb 2007, Philip Bennefall wrote: > Hello, > > A few days go I hired a person from Rent a coder to write me a couple of C++ functions. he was using Vc++ to develop his code as far as I know. Hello, A few days go I hired a person from Rent a coder to write me a couple of = C++ functions. he was using Vc++ to develop his code as far as I know. = Now, MinGW has problems compiling his code because of the fact that he = is using assembly. One part of the code looks like: __asm { mov ebx, dwCardID add ebx, i xor eax,eax mov al, bTmp mov byte ptr [ebx],al } But it completely refuses to compile it. Can anyone tell me why? Thanks in advance. Regards Philip Bennefall |
