Thanks! Yesterday I discovered that I could see the current time in mm:ss format and am happy to use that. I must have been looking for how to set it to mm:ss earlier when I right clicked on it and discovered the zoom time window. That makes me wonder if the window to the right of the graphical representation of the current time is the full length. If that is true, is there a way to set it to display in mm:ss format? Thanks for your reply. I've been transcribing since 2012, and have mostly been using...

Good morning Dick, I'm going to assume you are referring to the Zoom Time window, where a separate window is opened to show the current time, which can be sized as big as you want it. That is available in the Help->Miscellaneous menu, called Zoom current time. You can also turn it on and off with Shift+Ctrl+Alt+Z or Right Click on the Current time on the left of the main window Once it is open click on it and it will roll through the available options. You may display Current elapsed time, Precise...

Normally, once the device has been registered in the udev system, easiest done by rebooting the box, the id: 05f3:00ff (or whatever) gets converted to a udev event and footswitch runs with that. This is normally covered by the setup routine that runs, the first time footswitch is run after installation. There is a section in the pdf manual which covers installing a foot pedal (/usr/share/doc/footswitch2/footswitch2.pdf) and I'd recommend you look at that first. You can run evtest from a terminal,...

    Debian opens larger than window

  • Rolf Rolf posted a comment on ticket #8

Dave, in version 8.7.0 I've changed the VIDRESIZE options to allow +400%, +200%, +100%, +50%, No Resize, half size, one third, one quarter and one fifth. I also check that the size change can never exceed the size of the terminal. So the only way that could happen, is if you have not specified a resize option i.e. No Resize. The bad news, the date of the 8.7.0 release is unknown.

  • Dave Stiles Dave Stiles posted a comment on ticket #8

Hi, Rolf. Not multiscreen. I tried converting the .MOV to .MV4 and that gave the same result (ie over-size). Also converted to .MP4 and same, so it's something evil in (possibly only these) quicktime files. try setting the VIDRESIZE option in the config file... to 2 Ace! And no significant effect on mp4/etc files. Many thanks!

  • Rolf Rolf posted a comment on ticket #8

Dave, the simple answer is I don't know, I don't run that system and I can't remember the last time I saw a .Mov file I do know that I don't set a maximum size, as I've never needed to. On Mint/Ubuntu, if you specify a size that will not fit on the screen, it refuses and fits it to the screen size. I assume the .mov file is reporting to vlc a size bigger than the screen and for whatever reason, the system allows that. (Again. I don't know if you are running a multiscreen system or if that would affect...

Regards "I cannot load the Config" Run fs2 from the command line and see what error message is written to the terminal, or there maybe a message in the Help->Debug Log I can't think what that could be, I've never come across an issue with that before, are you sure you're not clicking away on the menu header (Configuration & Tools)? In Manjaro: Does the foot pedal show when you run the lsusb command? Does the foot pedal show when you run evtest and do you get the expected output from it?

Sorry, Rolf. Already returned the Infinity, as it won't work anyway with the free version of Express Scribe, that one of my co-workers wants to use on her Mac. That's why I asked about the AltoEdge, because it does work on the free version of Express Scribe. For my Linux system, I would just use your program. So I need a foot pedal that works for both.
