very good. i use a similar tool "RUNSQL" From "Power Tools for the AS/400, Volume II," Duke Press. Author : Dan Riehl that tool had a similar problem with "spaces" mostly if the space was the first character in the variable IF COND(%SST(&LINEX &IX 1) = ' ') THEN(DO) /* + 55 byte boundary is a blank */ CHGVAR VAR(&IX) VALUE(&IX + 1) /* Add extra blank */ might be helpful in fixing your tool.
