Visual Basic 6.0 Runtime Plus Reviews

Windows 11: The VB6 application worked when I used this runtime, but I kept getting annoying popups once per session saying that the application was compiled with an unlicensed version of some plugin. Ultimately I uninstalled this runtime and was able to find the re-distributable files I needed (msinet.ocx) from my softwares vendor. The annoying popups went away when I was using the official Microsoft re-distributable files. If you are facing similar issues, I would suggest trying to get ahold of the VB6 extended runtime files from your software vendor (or get a copy of the VB6 IDE and they should be in there too).

You'll need this in Windows 10 if you uninstall MsOffice ;-)

A better redist than the vendor ever provided.

it went through the install process completely then when trying to register i got an error message "unable to register the type ibrary: RegisterTypeLib failed; code 0x8002801 Error accessing the OLE registry" After clicking the Abort option it backed out all changes. New laptop running Windows 7 Professional Service Pack 1 on a Dell Inspiron 5749 Intel core processor i3-5005U 4.9 GB ram 64 bit Op Sys I have seen it work on other workstations but this one has VB6 installed on it. Rating a 3 because it worked great on other workstations but not a all on this one.
