Drake Tax

Pros: The ease of use of this tool was great, I was trained on this software back in 2017 and used it through 2020. The tool allows for quickly jumping through the various aspects of the tax return. In particular, the flow through abilities to compare changes from prior years along with adding in corporate, partnership or other flow-through information is greatly helpful when coordinating multiple workers working on the same individuals set of returns when they have more then one type of tax return to file.

Cons: The user interface and key combinations can be challenging at times and depending on the setup of the office, clients may have some issues reading or understanding the screen if you are sharing it with them. I used this program for years at my work, this was by far a very nice professional tax software and I had very few issues with the software. Some complained over the password and security aspects of the software being overly rigid, while some may see that as a complication given the ever increasing need for security, especially in this industry I would argue this is more of a positive then a true negative. My only real complaint with the software was that configuring printers and network devices could be challenging and the process for doing so could use improvement.

Overall: Overall, I used this product for years and found it to be a great application for what it is intended to do. The software also allows for a variety of pricing options and also simplifies producing returns that have multiple state returns required or have other rare problems that tax professionals may have to encounter in their day-to-day operations.

Pros: Very easy to navigate through this software and easy to understand what needs to be done. You don't have to be a Pro to use this!

Cons: There was nothing I didn't like when I used this software.

Overall: I found Drake to be very easy to use and filing taxes was very quick. My small Tax office was able to handle a rush of customers with ease and there were no hiccups or dragging systems. Very happy with Drake!
