    "Very buggy, broken product"

    Edited 2024-12-20

Pros: Shape note capability, nothing else. It has very poor functionality, and continually corrupts the music you are inputting. It will randomly change note duration. There is no reason to buy this program as-is. The scanning functionality is a joke. I hate this stupid app and the amount of time i've wasted on it.

Cons: The program changes hours of work if you press UNDO one time. It will go the first note, and corrupt the entire score. Support was no help, told me they were working on Scan Soft. Notes change themselves (duration) without any sense. Shape notes should be automatic. If in G major, then G is Do, so then A should automatically be Re, then B should be Mi. Nope, You have to tell each note what the shape value is. You have to save multiple times, changing each Save AS name because this buggy program will corrupt your save file before you know it. Then all is lost. This happens all the time.

Overall: It's not worth the effort. It has caused me so much stress. My joy of music has been diminished by this app. I will GLADLY use any other program that this one. If you ever decide to fix it, please let me know.

"Forte 12 full product major problems"

    Posted 2023-07-04

Pros: The Main menu at the top was user friendly, but disappeared after scan.
The price was appropriate for the advertised functionality, but such functionality was not accessible to me.

Cons: The center opening dialog was tiny and thus all but unreadable.
After scanning, the main menu up at the top became tiny as well.
PDF scan worked well, provided removal of words and guitar chords.
The transposition dialog was tiny and highly confusing.
For transposition, simply do this: which way, and by how many notes?
I cannot proceed further with this product until these issues are fixed.

Overall: Highly unsuccessful first impression of Forte 12, waiting on fix for these bugs.
