We’re renaming ‘products’ to ‘apps’

Atlassian 'products’ are now ‘apps’. You may see both terms used across our documentation as we roll out this terminology change. Here’s why we’re making this change

How to migrate dashboards

When migrating to cloud using the Jira Cloud Migration Assistant, you can migrate your dashboards along with other project components. This page explains what dashboards you can migrate and how they work after migration.

Before you begin

  • Review all dashboard gadgets against the supported gadgets list below

  • Note that system dashboards cannot be migrated

  • Identify all dashboard-dependent projects

Migration options

You can select one of the following options to migrate dashboards using Jira Cloud Migration Assistant:

Option 1: Only dashboards linked to selected projects

  • Migrates dashboards connected to selected projects

  • Includes dashboards specified in gadgets or permissions

  • Does not include dashboards that are not linked to any projects

Option 2: All dashboards

  • Migrates all dashboards from your Server or Data Center instance

  • Includes dashboards that are not linked to any projects

Option 3: None

  • No dashboards will be migrated

Note: When re-migrating dashboards, your Data Center rules will always replace the existing Cloud rules. Any customizations or changes made to these dasboads in Cloud will be overwritten by your Data Center version.

Note that:

  • After migration, some dashboard gadgets may not work because certain gadgets on the server are either third-party or not currently supported in the cloud.

  • Some projects related to dashboards may not have been selected for migration. You can continue migrating these dashboards. We'll relink when you migrate them again, along with their associated projects.

Gadgets supported in Jira Cloud Migration Assistant

During the migration, you may find that some gadgets are missing from the dashboards. This is because some gadgets on the server are either third-party or not currently supported in the cloud. The following table lists all gadgets that are migrated using Jira Cloud Migration Assistant and those that are unsupported by the migration assistant or the cloud:
