Introduction
Once youβve created and sold memberships or passes (read more about this here), itβs important to know how your customers redeem them and how to manage their check-ins.
Understand the types of memberships and passes
There are two main types of memberships and passes:
-
Free admission
Allows customers to enter without paying at the point of visit. They can redeem admission in person or online using their membership or pass. -
Discounted admission
Offers customers a reduced price on admission, which can only be redeemed through online bookings with a unique membership ID.
Check-in process for free admission memberships and passes
-
Customers do not need to pre-book but can choose to do so. Please note that if the customer does pre-book online, more than one membership ID can be applied to a basket at checkout.
-
When they arrive, scan the customer's membership/pass QR code. This automatically checks for the closest event, adds a booking, and checks them in.
- Each scan is recorded as a use of the membership/pass. This is useful for tracking purposes, especially if the number of uses is limited or just to monitor attendance and utilisation for reporting.

Check-in process for discounted admission memberships and passes
- Customers with this membership/pass type must pre-book their visits online. During the booking process, they will enter their unique membership ID at checkout (more than 1 code can be applied to a basket), which applies any applicable discounts
- When customers arrive, scan the booking QR code (not the membership QR code) in their booking confirmation email. This displays details about the member who placed the booking, allowing you to verify that the membership/pass matches the person presenting it
- Each booking placed online is counted as a use of the membership/pass. This is useful for tracking purposes, especially if the number of uses is limited or just to monitor attendance and utilisation for reporting

FAQs
-
Why does my pass say I still need to add a photo, even though I've uploaded one?
This happens when check-in is attempted before Beyonk has finished processing the photo. After uploading, wait until you receive a confirmation email before checking in - this confirms the photo has been saved to your pass.
