As sovereign sustainability funding continues to mature, we’re seeing ambitious leadership emerge across our markets. One example is the Kingdom of Thailand, which has just issued its second Sustainability-Linked Bond (SLB), linking sovereign funding to its national goals across both climate and nature. The transaction marks a regional first, making Thailand the first sovereign issuer in Asia to embed a biodiversity target within a Sustainability-Linked Financing framework. This commits Thailand to increasing protected terrestrial and inland water areas, together with biodiversity conservation areas outside formally protected zones, to at least 30% of Thailand's total land area by 2030, helping to channel market support towards broader environmental outcomes. The transaction builds on the success of Thailand’s inaugural SLB, which helped establish a benchmark for sustainability-linked finance in the region. Swipe to learn more about the transaction and how we have supported the Kingdom’s sustainability ambitions.
