Within the Yonago City Healthcare Platform, we developed a shared electronic health record (EHR) system integrated with a web-based first-visit referral (web scheduling) application to improve real-world viewing. We report early implementation outcomes.
Methods:
The platform integrates a web-based first-visit referral app with electronic medical records (EMRs) at four hospitals; 150 facilities were granted viewing rights. We analyzed referrals and access logs from March 16 to June 16, 2025. Primary outcomes were EHR viewing within 30 days of referral and physician-level use (≥1 access).
Results:
During the study period, 150 facilities submitted 695 referrals; the EHR was viewed within 30 days in 250 cases (35.9%). Of 713 physicians with EHR accounts, 190 (26.6%) accessed the EHR at least once.
Conclusions:
Integrating EHR access with web-based referral/booking was associated with increased clinician use.
