Prerequisites
To get the most out of the hands-on exercises in Chapter 12, I recommend having some basic knowledge of the following:
- Python programming
- SQL and PostgreSQL
- Using tools like Python JupyterLab, Python Notebooks, and Pandas
- Running Docker containers locally
- Basic Git commands
However, if you’re unfamiliar with all of these, don’t worry! You can still dive into the projects and learn as you go along.

Tamer Khraisha is a senior software and data developer, as well as a scientific author, with over a decade of experience in both industry and research. Tamer’s experience combines a solid background in financial markets with substantial expertise in software engineering. He did his undergraduate studies in finance and economics and earned a PhD in network science. Tamer’s research interests are focused on financial markets, data, and technology.
