Professor Tom Gillingwater, who leads the anatomical bequest programme, Dr Janet Skinner, Director of Clinical Skills, and Dr Vicki McCorkell, Interim Lead for Communication Skills in Medical Education at the University, explore and explain the ways in which Edinburgh Medical School couldn't operate without the enthusiastic support of the people of Edinburgh.

Silent Teachers
We are delighted to be collaborating with the Scottish Chamber Orchestra (SCO) this year through the Silent Teachers project, inspired by the generous individuals who donate their bodies to medical teaching and research. This is an ambitious multistrand artistic project that brings together music, performance, film and learning.

A dedicated Silent Teachers commission for clarinet and string quartet, by SCO Associate Composer, Jay Capperauld, will be premiered at a special SCO performance after the lecture.
