NIT Raipur Admission Experience for Electrical Engineering

It was my dream to go to IIT or NIT . And my dream got fulfilled . I gave JEE Mains and Luckily, I got selected in NIT RAIPUR.

College: National Institute of Technology Raipur NIT Raipur

Branch: Information Technology IT

Competitive Exam: JEE MAINS

Eligibility Criteria: It is for NIT admission .

  • The student must pass class 12th from any of the boards CBSE , ICSE or state board.
  • The student should take Physics , Mathematics and Chemistry in their class 12th.
  • The student should get 75% or above in their class 12th and that percent is added with their JEE MAINS score to calculate their JEE Mains AIR (All India Rank).
  • The student should give JEE MAINS exam and clear it . There is cut-off for every category (General ,OBC,SC , ST, etc. ) .

Admission Exam Experience : I gave JEE MAINS exam. There are 3 subjects in the paper.

  • Subjects - Physics, Chemistry , Maths
  • There are total 90 questions.
  • 30 questions for every subject
  • The marking scheme is +4 for right answer and -1 for wrong answer.
  • Total marks for the paper is 360.
  • The time duration is 3 hours for the paper.
  • If the student clears JEE MAINS , then he will get admission to NIT and he will be able to give JEE ADVANCED.
  • If he also clears JEE ADVANCED, then he will get admission to IIT.

Admission Process Experience:

I cleared JEE MAINS and applied for NIT RAIPUR .

  • The admission mainly depends on the AIR (All India Rank) you got in JEE MAINS
  • After clearing JEE MAINS , we need to apply for the colleges through JOSAA.
  • We need to fill the preferences for the college we need to go in the registration form.
  • Then on the basis of your AIR , you will get the college.
  • Total 7 rounds take place in the admission process.
  • On the basis of your preferences you need to select the seat.
    • If you are satisfied with the branch in 1st round then you can lock the seat.
    • If you are not satisfied with the college in 1st round then you can skip that and go in the subsequent rounds.
  • After you selected your college , then you have to go to that college in person for Document Verification.
  • There you need to submit the documents like : 10th class Marksheet, 12th class Marksheet , Aadhar Card , Character Certificate, Migration Certificate, JEE MAINS Marksheet , Caste Certificate, Income Certificate and all other required documents.
  • After this process, we have to give admission fees.
  • After the fee payment , the admission is confirmed to NIT .

I got admission in Electrical Branch in NIT RAIPUR. If you are not satisfied with branch in NIT RAIPUR , then you can apply for sliding in 2nd year.
