Hey everyone! I’m Jatin Pankhaniya, a Computer Engineering student from the 2023-2027 batch. When I first walked into VGEC, I had the same question everyone has: "Is a government college actually worth it?" After nearly three years here, I can tell you the experience has been as smooth as butter—but only if you know how to navigate the system.

The Infrastructure Beyond The Sarkari Stereotype
Don't let the "government" tag fool you. While the buildings are older and require some maintenance, the resources provided are top-tier:
- Super-Fast Wi-Fi: Essential for every developer and engineer.
- Modern Computing Labs: Equipped with new-generation systems that actually handle heavy software.
- Advanced Equipment: Whether you are in mechanical or electrical, the lab setups are comprehensive.
The Faculty: Your Ladder to Success
I’d honestly give our faculty a 10/10. They aren't just here to finish a syllabus; they are mentors.
- They support you in deep technical doubts and project implementations.
- If you have an entrepreneurial spark, they act as the first line of support to help you scale your idea.
Clubs & Culture
If you just study at VGEC, you’re missing 90% of the fun. Here’s a breakdown of the clubs that shaped my journey:
- GeeksforGeeks (GfG) Campus Body: My personal favorite! As a Campus Mantri, I’ve seen firsthand how these workshops and hackathons bridge the gap between college and the tech industry.
- E-Cell (Entrepreneurship Cell): This is where business ideas take flight. They invite industry experts for lectures and provide the most crucial help—getting you the grants needed to fund your startup.
- NCC & NSS: If you want discipline, NCC treats you like a commando. If you want to give back, NSS leads activities like 'Happy Feeding' and community service.
- VQ Activities (Prof. Vaseem Qureshi): From Wednesday English sessions to photography and adventure trips, this is where you build your personality.
- IEI & IEEE Chapters: These are the technical powerhouses organizing quizzes and national-level hackathons to keep your competitive spirit alive.
- Gymkhana & MESSA: Whether it’s squading up for a volleyball match or attending skill-up workshops, these clubs ensure there's never a dull day.
Exams & Attendance
The academic side—GTU exams, mid-sems, and vivas—goes smoothly if you follow one golden rule: Be consistent with your attendance. VGEC is supportive, but showing up is the first step to staying ahead in the race.
VGEC offers a massive platform, but it’s up to you to step onto it. Between the support of the TPO (Training & Placement Office) and the vibrant club culture, you have everything you need to become a successful engineer.
