The Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), India's premier nuclear research facility under the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE), recruits Scientific Officers through its prestigious training programs: OCES-2026 (Orientation Course for Engineering Graduates and Science Postgraduates) and DGFS-2026 (DAE Graduate Fellowship Scheme). These programs offer a unique opportunity for talented engineers and scientists to contribute to India's nuclear technology advancements while securing a stable, high-reward government career.

Objectives of BARC OCES/DGFS-2026
The primary goal of these programs is to train and absorb highly skilled professionals as Scientific Officers (Group A Gazetted) in DAE units, including BARC, NPCIL, and others. Successful candidates contribute to cutting-edge research in nuclear energy, reactor design, radiation technologies, and related fields. The programs emphasise hands-on training, innovative R&D, and career progression in a secure government setup.

BARC Selection Process
Selection is a two-step process:
1. Screening:
- BARC Online Screening Examination : This is a computer-based test conducted in multiple engineering and science disciplines across more than fifty cities in India. No travel allowance is provided for appearing in this examination. The exam tests subject knowledge in the chosen discipline.
- OR Valid GATE Score : Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria can be screened directly based on a valid GATE score from GATE-2024, GATE-2025, or GATE-2026 in the relevant subject/paper.
Candidates are advised to attempt both for better chances.
2. Selection Interview
- Only candidates who are screened in (shortlisted) through the above process are called for a personal interview. The interview assesses technical knowledge, aptitude, and suitability for a career in nuclear research and technology. Final selection is based primarily on performance in the interview.
- This process ensures selection of highly qualified candidates for training as Scientific Officers in the Department of Atomic Energy (DAE) units.
