I recently had the opportunity to appear for the ISRO interview for the post of Scientist SC in Bengaluru. Here's a brief overview of my experience.
Document Verification: My document verification was scheduled for 11th August 2024. This was the first step in the interview process.
Interview: The interview was scheduled for 12th August 2024. The students were divided into two slots - morning and afternoon. I was allotted the morning slot.
Interview Details: Approximately 30 students were called for the interview on that day. My interview started at 12:30 and lasted for about 25 minutes.
Interview Panel : The interview panel consisted of 10 members, but only 6 members were present during my interview.
Interview Questions: The interview began with a brief introduction, followed by a series of technical questions. Some of the topics that were covered during the interview included:
- Operating Systems (OS)
- Database Management Systems (DBMS)
- Computer Networks
- Security (with a lot of emphasis on this topic)
The panel also grilled me on my B. Tech project, so it's essential to be thoroughly prepared to defend your project.
Important points: One important thing to note is that the panel asked questions on random topics, not just limited to my favorite subjects. This means that you should be prepared to answer questions on a wide range of topics, even if they're not directly related to your area of expertise.
Additionally, be prepared to solve or derive questions/expressions on a whiteboard, as the panel may ask you to do so.
GOOD LUCK
