Hi everyone, I am Pranav Dhamane, and this is my experience of preparing for Joint Entrance Examination Main 2025. This journey was not just about studying Physics, Chemistry, and Maths, but also about handling pressure, staying consistent, and dealing with unexpected situations ,especially on the exam day.
Preparation Phase
My preparation was not perfect from the beginning. Like most students, I started with motivation, but maintaining consistency was the real challenge. Some days were very productive, while on others I felt completely stuck.
Over time, I realized a few things:
- Consistency matters more than studying 10–12 hours randomly
- Solving questions is more important than just reading theory
- Revision is something you can’t skip
I tried to balance my preparation by:
- Practicing previous year questions
- Giving mock tests regularly
- Analyzing mistakes (which I initially ignored a lot)
Honestly, I wasn’t someone who followed a “perfect schedule,” but I kept trying to improve gradually.
The Pressure Phase
As the exam got closer, pressure started building.
- Seeing others perform well in mocks
- Comparing scores
- Overthinking small mistakes
There were times when I doubted myself a lot.
But one thing that helped was accepting that:
Everyone’s preparation journey is different, and comparison only adds unnecessary stress.
Exam Day Experience
Exam day didn’t go as smoothly as I expected.
My exam was scheduled for 3 PM, and I reached the centre quite early. I had completed all the entry formalities and was at my seat by around 1 PM.
Around 2 PM, I felt the need to use the washroom, so I requested the invigilators. But they didn’t allow me and said that I should have gone before completing the biometric verification and entry process.
They clearly told me that now I would only be allowed to go after 1 hour from the start of the exam.
At that point, I didn’t really have any option, so I had to sit through it.
When the exam started, I tried to focus, but it was honestly difficult to stay fully concentrated. After about 1 hour into the exam, I again requested, and this time they allowed me to go.
But this whole situation ended up costing me around 10 minutes of my exam time.
More than the time, it affected my flow:
- I lost concentration during an important phase
- It broke my momentum
- I had to rush a few questions later
I still feel that if this hadn’t happened, my performance could have been slightly better.
At the same time, it taught me a practical lesson:
Even small things on exam day can impact your performance, so you need to be mentally prepared for unexpected situations.
Result & Reflection
I ended up scoring 97.1 percentile (Rank 44,224) in JEE Main 2025.
It may not be a top rank, but considering the journey, I learned a lot more than just marks.
Looking back, I feel:
- I could have managed time better during preparation
- I should have analyzed mocks more seriously
- I should have avoided unnecessary stress and comparison
What I Learned
This journey taught me some important lessons:
- Consistency beats short bursts of motivation
- Mock tests are only useful if you analyze them
- Mental calmness matters a lot in exams
- Unexpected situations can happen, so stay prepared
And most importantly:
Your effort matters more than a single exam result.
Advice to Future Aspirants
If you are preparing for JEE, I would suggest:
- Focus on understanding concepts, not just completing syllabus
- Practice regularly and revise properly
- Don’t compare your journey with others
- Stay calm on exam day and manage time wisely
Also, take care of small things before the exam (like food, rest, and basic needs), because they can unexpectedly affect your performance.
Final Thoughts
JEE is definitely an important exam, but it is not everything.
For me, this journey was more about learning discipline, handling pressure, and understanding how to improve.
No matter what your result is, what really matters is how you move forward from here.
