- Total 4 rounds- 2 Technical, 1 Managerial, 1 HR Round.
1st Technical Round:
- Introduction, Professional Background.
- How would you rate yourself on SQL?
- Basic Questions around SQL- Join, Group by, order by, Rank, DDL, DML, etc. Simple concepts.
Dataset based Question:
Question 1: There are 2 tables A & B - 1st table has an x column, with null and some values, and another table B with y column having nulls & values...
Now join both the tables on x-y columns and count the no. Of outputs based on each kind of join - left, right, inner, full round.....
Question 2: For this cricket scoreboard shown on your screen, consider it as a table or database and then prepare queries for the desired result (whatever kind of data/ table/ output I am asking)
- 3-4 questions were asked
Some Python questions- Basic level
- To find anagrams from the string list.
- The array is given to find pair whose sum is equal to given values x.
Basics of Problem-solving (since mentioned in resume)
Verdict - Passed.
2nd Technical Round
- Intro. , Resume-based questions on projects and previous job, tools mentioned- what & how I exactly worked on them (implementation).
- Basics of Big data and how it's different from traditional methodology like RDBMS.
- Apache, Spark, RDD, drivers, graphs, persistence, and allied questions of Apache and Spark.
- How to optimize spark while working on its application... How will you implement what you said in a real project?
Next a Dataset was given and was asked: Using spark code find the answer for these 2 cases.
Verdict- Passed
3rd Round - Managerial
- Mostly Situational & behavioral questions were asked in this round after the technical knowledge assessment it's more of a personality test to see if I am a suitable candidate or not. (Apart from tech.)
- Was asked about the projects I worked on - in-depth discussions- challenges, Learning, achievements, role, tools, day-to-day responsibility, etc. Fronts were covered.
- Was there any situation of Conflict with the team or any colleague at any given point...
- How did you resolve and confront such a situation,
- In these jobs we deal with deadlines, so how did you manage your time? Was there any situation where you missed deadlines - what did you do then?
- An out-of-the-box question (given it was a managerial round)
- Give your approach to designing an online ticketing system- data flow, architecture, etc. ...
Verdict - Passed
4th Round- HR
Coming to this round I was told - We have received Positive reviews from our managers and we want to hire you. So this round is going to be a formal job discussion round rather than an interview.
I was asked about my hobbies, strengths, weakness, salary discussion, job location, job role, and department. And all that stuff.
Finally Selected.
