SOTI Interview Experience

Round 1: Coding Test

The first round was a coding test with three challenging questions that focused mainly on recursion and dynamic programming, with some emphasis on trees and graphs. One standout problem involved a chess scenario, where I played as a knight and had to determine the maximum number of ways to capture the king. Completing all three questions was essential to advance, given the extremely competitive selection rate—out of 26,000 participants, only 100 were selected. At my college, just two of us cleared this round.

Round 2: Technical and HR Round

The second round combined a Technical and HR interview. The technical portion included puzzles aimed at evaluating my thought process and problem-solving approach. The interviewer focused on my intuition and reasoning rather than strictly on correct answers. Technical questions covered core topics like Object-Oriented Programming (OOP), Operating Systems, and Networking, without emphasizing any specific programming language.

One key part of this round was designing classes for a scenario, where I demonstrated my ability to structure and connect classes efficiently with reusability in mind. In the puzzle portion, I made it a point to share my thought process, explaining my steps and insights to involve the interviewer in my approach. This round highlighted both my technical knowledge and collaborative skills.

Overall, the experience was both challenging and rewarding, pushing me to demonstrate my problem-solving abilities, technical expertise, and clear communication under pressure.

Got an offer letter after a week :-).
