I applied for Zoho off-campus drive on July 15. I received an interview call from Zoho via email on July 30, 2024. The interview took place at the Tenkasi office on August 3 and August 4.
Round - 1: Aptitude and C Programming (AUG 3)
The first round began with an aptitude test combined with C programming-related questions. There were a total of 20 questions—10 from each section. For those who cleared this round, they proceeded to the coding round. There were more than 3000 applicants, out of which only 100 to 200 people proceeded to the next round.
Round - 2 (Preliminary ): Coding Round (AUG 3)
The second round involved two coding problems on String Manipulation and Shortest Path Search. A Question paper was given and the coding should be done in your personal laptop on any of your favorite programming languages and IDE.
Round - 2 (Hard): Advanced Coding Round (AUG 4)
In this round it had three problems to solve with difficulty ranging from medium to hard – Sudoku Solver, Max Finder and another one Dynamic Programming Problem. The hidden test cases and the approach that we take were tested.
Round - 3: Application Development Round (AUG 4)
This round was an application development round where we had to provide a console-level application. They gave us a question paper and it was a TAXPAYER application. After completing each question paper, the extension of the application will be provided in the next question paper. Before proceeding to the next the interviewer will check whether it passes all the test cases. I would recommend interacting well with the interviewer, and explain your approach towards the problem clearly.
Once this was done, I faced a kind of tech interview where the interviewer asked me a few questions on DSA, OOPS and discussed whether I am ready for an incubation program for 2 weeks. Since the location option was given as tenkasi, I preferred another location. So I said it would be good if I get another location.
On August 13, I received a call from ZOHO for incubation but this time they gave the location as chennai/tenkasi to choose. So I opted for the chennai location, and my call letter for incubation was sent and my joining date was on Aug 22.
Incubation (AUG 22 - SEPT 11)
During the incubation, the focus was on working with the following tech stack: Tomcat, Cassandra, and MySQL. My task was to develop an end-to-end posting application, connecting it to a server and databases. The development process was structured so that each day, I was provided with an extension to the application, which I had to implement. My mentor would review my code daily, offering feedback and suggestions for improvement, helping me refine my approach.
After all the code reviews from my mentor and tech leads, my manager came and discussed with me how are you doing and how is work going. After that he told me that they are proceeding with my profile to HR round.
HR Round (SEPT 12)
This round consisted of basic questions about my background, preferred job location, areas of interest, and salary expectations.
Finally, on 16-09-24, I was informed that I had been selected as a Member Technical Staff at Zoho!
