Zupee Interview Experience for SDET (Off-campus 2024)

Last Updated : 23 Jul, 2025

I came across a LinkedIn post by one of the Senior Engineering Manager at Zupee, hiring for SDETs, hence decided to reach out to them for the role of SDET-1, as I already had prior experience in System Testing. After having a brief conversation with them via LinkedIn, I was contacted by their Talent Acquisition, who took my few details and scheduled a technical interview with on of their Lead SDETs.

Technical Interview Round 1:

I was firstly asked to give a brief introduction of myself, my education, my internships, etc. After which I was asked about different kinds of testing and their use cases (functional, feature-interaction, etc.). After that I was given a scenario-based question related to testing(Give all test cases to check a TV Remote, etc.). I was then taken to the website of Make My Trip and asked about various feature implementations and their workings and how would they be tested. I was able to do well and answer all that was asked in this round.

After this, I was given two DSA problems, which were -

  1. https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/dsa/reverse-string-preserving-space-positions/
  2. https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/digital-rootrepeated-digital-sum/

I gave my logic and Brute-force approach for both problems after which I was asked to optimize and better the time complexity and was asked to code and show the working as well. Both questions were medium level and were more focused on problem-solving. Overall it went well, and the following day I was informed of a positive feedback. I was then informed about a 2nd Technical Interview with the Senior Management.

Technical Interview Round 2 (and general discussion):

This was taken by the Senior Engineering Manager, and it started off with a brief introduction about myself and the previous internships I have done. Then soon I was asked a lot of questions about testing (both manual and automation) and my experience with it. I was asked questions on multiple practices, procedures related to testing as well as CI/CD. Softwares and technologies I worked with like Jenkins, Bugzilla, etc.

I was then given a scenario based problem based on Binary Search, and it was a deep-dive on its implementation in a real life scenario with various conditions being provided on the go. I was also asked more about the algorithm once this question was done, like the time complexity and why is it so, etc. It was a pretty interactive discussion which was very insightful to say the least. I was then given a chance to ask whatever comes to mind about the company, the role, or anything in general, which I made good use of by asking more about my day in that role, expectations from me, company's vision etc. And all of them were addressed really well.

I was later informed about the positive feedback from this interview a few days later and was informed of an upcoming HR discussion. I was asked for some documents and details after which my HR Discussion was scheduled.

HR Discussion:

This was mostly about my experience and expectations, about myself and other personal details and how I would make a good fit for the role and the company, followed on by the compensation discussion.

After a few days I received my offer letter, and I joined as an SDET-1.

Hope this was helpful, Best of Luck!

Regards.
