Let us take a bird's eye view to the content of the book.
The Plot:
The book starts with a tragic scene where an important place was attacked by the assassins sent by Mahishasur. The attack was brutal and was resulted in the death of a well-respected sage!. The course of events force Hara to end hence peaceful life and follow his karmik path.

While Hara along with his group able to track down the assassins and eventually punish them. But, it is revealed that it was all part of an even bigger conspiracy which affects Hara at the personal end as well.

Walking on his Karmik path, Hara goes through a long journey which passes through various places in Bharat, the kingdom of Lanka, Hiranyapura and other places. On the quest, he meets with Lord Hanuman, Bhairava, Brihaspati, Shukracharya and many others, which I will suggest reading in the book rather than talking much about.

Views and Reviews:
Mythology retelling by adding fiction to it and modernizing it in a way that the current readers shall like it is in thing these days. However, each such attempt doesn't achieve the success targeted based on various factors.

This book contains all the positive features needed for a book in this genre and you don't feel that it is the first book by M. Vizhakat. The way various places are explored in this book is amazing. The author takes you on an interesting journey which you will surely like reading about. While the natural beauty, geography, surroundings and architectural setup of various places, are explored pretty nicely by the author; some of the things which actually stands out among them are the logical reasoning for the theories behind Gangavataran, bathing Shiva Lingas with water and milk, etc.

The author seems had read many scriptures from ancient Indian literature and he mixed the things up quite well.

One's personality always reflects in all his/her creations. And it is evident here. Some of the lines in the book reflect the armed forces background of the author. You will find (1)sarcasm and (2)the characters trying to create funny moments during the tensed time(s); enjoyable.

Some of the interesting lines from the book include:

"Moyi had carefully nurtured the new religion on a path that glorified sacrifice and loyalty towards their cause."

"Your emotions have always been your weakness as well as strength. "

On the flip side, there are lines in the book which contains spelling/grammar mistakes and/or needs to be written in a different way.

Summary:
If you love to explore mythology retold in different aspect with a unique vision, this book is for you. If you haven't read it yet, I will recommend you to add it in your "to read" list without fail.
