Help! I'm reading Thirteenth Child by Patricia Wrede right now, and I'm trying to remember all the seventh son/seventh son of a seventh son stories that I've read. There's Will Stanton from The Dark Is Rising by Susan Cooper, and Alvin Miller from Seventh Son by Orson Scott Card. Anyone else remember any? I'm drawing a blank, but I'm sure there are more out there.

No, I think he was just a regular seventh son. I don't think it says what # his dad was. But thanks for reminding me about him! I'm interested in seventh sons, too!

I'm about half way through Thirteenth Child now, but I'm losing interest in it. It's strange because I love the characters and I really care what happens to them, but nothing seems to be happening to them. Does the book ever pick up speed?

Way down at the end. I agree, it lags in the middle. Apparently it's a common downfall of sci fi/fantasy.
