Jenny was one of the first members of S&L that I talked with. She was recruiting reviewers for SFFAudio and I did those for a few years under her coordination.
After that dried up, I didn't talk to her as often but she would always chime in from time to time with some good comments on S&L despite getting busy with her own blog and podcast: http://readingenvy.blogspot.com/
I'm really sorry to hear of her passing.

So sad to hear. Her posts were always thoughtful and interesting. From the little one can tell of someone else on the forums, she seemed to be a very pleasant person.
That is very sad news.
Jenny was a valued member with great insights and a voracious appetite for books.
She was a guest host twice, on Shows 408 and 409 last year while Veronica was on maternity leave
She will be missed.

Oh no! That’s terrible news. She will be sadly missed, here and elsewhere. Is there any kind of collection in her memory?
As usual in these sort of situations, I want to say something, but don't know what. I do know that her insightful and unique takes on the books she enjoyed so much will be very much missed. I truly enjoyed, and looked forward to her comments. It almost didn't feel like a group read was done until she had weighed in with a poignant take.I also thought it appropriate to link to her comments on the passing of another of our members Joanna 5 years ago.

A huge loss. I found her posts insightful and always enjoyed when she responded to one of mine. The world is a little darker now.
I am shocked and saddened to hear about her passing. She always made such interesting, gentle and kind contributions. In my mind she was one of the pillars of the Sword and Laser community.
I was, and remain, in utter awe of the number of books she got through. Inspiring.
May she rest in peace.
I'm so sad about her passing. 😢 She was such a great member of our group and her voice will be sorely missed. There just is not enough to say.
Wow that is so sad to hear. I am literally in shock and don't know what to say but that I'll miss her voice (literally) and her blog posts both about books and baking.
Really sobering news. She was very welcoming and knowledgeable and read so widely - she'll be missed.
To echo John (Nevets), I want to say something, but I don't really know what. I've had Jenny as a friend on Goodreads for years, and while I didn't interact with her a ton, she was probably one of the people that I relied on the most for reviews and recommendations. I just knew if Jenny thought a book was special, I would too. I'm so incredibly saddened by her passing and will miss her presence in the book world immensely. She was much too young. If anyone finds out anything about a donation or collection going on in her honor, I'm sure many of us would love to contribute.
Jenny was a GR friend so I saw her reviews on my home page all the time. Thoughtful, curious and kind. A huge loss.
Jenny was an excellent cohost last year filling in for Veronica, I had a great time being in her show and she was a wonderful generous and intelligent person. So gutted to hear this.

I found the two episodes she did for us last year during Veronica’s maternity leave.

I have listened to Jenny’s podcast for years. I will miss her voice, her insight, her kindness, and her compassion.
Wow, I’m just… this is very upsetting and words aren’t right, because I can’t recall having any significant, personal exchanges, but she was such an important and well loved member of this group and I’m really shocked and saddened by this news. I’ll really miss her.
Hi all. I’m Jenny’s husband. Thank you so much for the kind words about her. Her passing was sudden and unexpected. Reading was her great love and she so enjoyed learning about books from others and why they thought a book was worth a read. Her unfinished reading list just for this year was still long and will now be left never to be completed which makes me so sad. She had so many plans and dreams that will now all be left unfinished. It has been so wonderful to see the amazing outpouring of love for her and makes me happy to know she established a legacy of kindness and generosity in her short life. If you would like to make a donation, Jenny was always trying to get dogs adopted so you can donate to Greenville Animal Care. https://www.greenvillecounty.org/acs/... The library where she worked is also raising money to create a mindfulness room in her name.https://alumni.furman.edu/friends-of-...
If I can ever get myself together I will write an obituary and make some kind of announcement on her Facebook page.
We will have a celebration of life on 6/30 with some of her favorite things including baking and storytelling.

Thank you Nathaniel for taking the trouble to share this information with us at this difficult time. Deepest sympathy for your loss.

It spooked me that her last posted episode is titled Unsettling Endings. I will really miss her.
I’ve made a donation to the Greenville County Animal Care in her memory.

Thank you Nathaniel, I think I echo everyone here when we say Jenny was so loved, and we can't even imagine what you're going through right now. We also dedicated this week's episode to her:
#437 - Jenny Was a Friend of Mine
Unfortunately, we already recorded by the time I saw your note about the charities and Library fund (amazing!), but I'll add them to the blog post as well.

I am so touched by the episode dedication and the memories shared at the end. She would be so thankful for all of the kindness everyone has expressed as we always felt the world needed more kindness in it.
Oh my gosh! This is terrible news. She was a bright spot here. Sending lots of warm thoughts to her family and friends.
I just saw the sad news. While I never met Jenny in person, we exchanged many notes over the years since I "met" her here in the Sword & Laser forums about 11 years ago, and I considered her to be a friend. She was such an inspiration and so insightful and positive, and she had excellent taste in books, of course. The world is a bit dimmer without her in it. My sincerest condolences to Nathaniel and her family and friends.
My deepest condolences to all who new her personally. She was an excellent podcaster and made S&L a better place to be and will be deeply missed. It is deeply tragic when someone dies at the height of their power with so much left undone.
Jenny lived so close, I wished I'd had a chance to visit her and that she'd been able to attend the Atlanta group's Discord gatherings. I always enjoyed seeing her updates on my Goodreads home page as her taste in books is broad like mine are and there are many on my lists with her name as the recommender.

No other details were provided, but she was only 43.
