NinjaMel Designs did my book cover and my website and blog design.

I think her work is excellent, and she is very reasonable. She makes the site very, very easy for the author to update as needed. She can also make the site match a book/series if that's what you're looking for.

My site was done in only a few days. She prefers to design Wordpress templates, as they are easiest for the author to update--but my site is HTML.

She does covers, websites, and e-book formatting.

I like my website, I think it brings alot and tells alot but I am interested in having a web designer check it out and see what they think, maybe give suggestions on what I should add, fix or etc. I am looking for ideas, if anyone would like to take a look and get back to me on here or message me please let me know thanks.

I'm no website designer but I really like your blog. One small suggestions. I think that the sparkly blue background kind of does not fit right with your foreground. It's just totlly out of the blue for me.

Thank You Nic, and I agree with you about the background, it's hard to change sometimes and finding a fitting background but I'll look into changing it, thanks for the tip and glad you enjoyed it!

Your welcome. I know what you mean. I've had a hard time with the background for my own blog. I'd suggest maybe a cream/beige color. Or something more soothing rather then sparky and flashy. When I read I don't want to be De-concentrated if you know what I mean. Anyways your welcome and good luck

I have a question. I live in Switzerland. How hard is it to do website design, set up etc when you cannot talk with your client in person? Do you communicate over e-mail, phone? Does that work ok? Prices here are steep and I'm shopping around.

Can anyone here give me some advice about how to set up the Goodreads/Paypal system to sell pdfs of my short stories off my website? I expect it would be fairly easy to install, but I'm not sure about how to fill the orders. Is there an automated processor that you need to send out the orders? Or do you get an email from Paypal and send out the stories yourself? Are there any pitfalls I'm not seeing? Many thanks for any advice.

My husband is a professional website designer. Of course, he does my writing-related websites, but he also works for various other businesses - dentists, home building contractors, editors, etc. He is very good at working with clients and helping them to create a website that really reflects their personality/business. All of his sites are also based on responsive design - so they "resize" and look great, whether you are looking at them on a computer or mobile device.

Do you use Wordpress.org? (not Wordpress.com)

I've just joined this forum as I am about to finish my first ever novel (I'm in the revision stage) and I'm looking around at various forums to see what the next step is. Some of the threads on here have been very helpful. Thank you all.

I am English, but I live in Bogota, Colombia. I teach English for a pittance to children who don't want to learn. I've just been assigned a new class on the other side of town, an hour to get there, an hour back. I don't want to do it! Hence my post here. See, I am also a web designer. Unfortunately I cannot find work here as my Spanish is not fluent, so I am stuck teaching.

So my pitch to you all is this: if you need a website for yourself or your creations, I can do it! Very cheap, very fast, very high quality. A simple website could cost $25, plus hosting and domain name. It's a steal. Most simple designs, if you provide me with all of the information and an idea of the design, would be about $50.

I use an online sitebuilder called moonfruit (I am not connected to them in any way). It is the best option for a simple graphical website, and it is easy for the user to update.

You could also make a website yourself with moonfruit, it is quite easy when you get the hang of it, especially if you use one of the templates. Godaddy is another option, and Wix.

I don't know what the etiquette of this forum is regarding offering services, so if this breaks the rules then I'm sorry. I just thought some of you might need this service, and it would be a good way for me to get to know some of you, make some contacts in this self-publishing world and hopefully avoid anymore English lessons!
