Hi,
If we already have the Professional Certification, is this considered a more basic form of that certificate? What would be the benefits to having both, if any?
Thanks
@kblakeslee , just wanted to confirm you saw this?
Thank you for your question! If you already have the Professional certification, here are some things to consider when deciding whether or not to also earn the new Associate Google Workspace Administrator certification.
If your Professional certification is expiring soon, we invite you to take the Associate beta exam as it is a good way to refresh your skills and add a new certification to your repertoire.
Please note that the Professional certification will be retired on December 31, 2024, but it remains valid and recognized by Google Cloud for two years from the passing date.
Thank you for the response. With the expiration of the Professional, will Associates carry as much weight from a professional stance? I got the Professional to be at the top of my field in expertise, I would want to make sure that it remains that way. Thanks!
The change from โProfessionalโ to โAssociateโ was carefully considered to make our certification more inclusive and accessible, and was built in large part from research we completed last year with a range of admins, customers, partners and other stakeholders. This research highlighted a need for a revised program that addressed the needs of a larger admin audience. Our product's ease of use is a key differentiator, and this update aligns the certification with both the required job skills and the needs of a broader range of talented individuals.
This change in no way diminishes the expertise and knowledge you possess with your Professional level certification. The Associate level certification reflects a refined focus on the essential skills validated by the new exam, along with updated topics. As the Professional certification is retired at the end of this year, the Associate certification will serve as a newer validation of Google Workspace Administrator skills and demonstrate expertise of the latest technologies.
Thank you for the clarification. It did sound like the certifcation was being demoted in some way, but I completely understand that was done in a way to be more inclusive. Appreciate the response!
@kblakeslee , is there any voucher opportunities for this exam for Partners? I would like to do this (we are Google Partners), but would need a voucher.
Hi @kblakeslee
I am interested in the inclusion of AppSheet elements in the new certificate.
(I am an App Creator who uses AppSheet)
I understand that it will be the job of the GWS administrator to enable/disable AppSheet in the organization and to set the AppSheet policy.
However, I consider the skills to develop apps on the AppSheet platform to be something else again.
Is there any possibility of adding a Google AppSheet Developer Certification or similar to assess app development skills?
I believe that kitchen cleaning and cooking skills should be evaluated separately.
