Eranga Galappaththi Featured on With Good Reason Podcast , redirectISCE Scholar Eranga Gallapathi was recently highlighted in an episode of the With Good Reason podcast. In his segment, Gallapathi discusses how for Indigenous communities in the Canadian Arctic and Sri Lanka, hunting and gathering remain a main source of food. Through his research, he is working with these communities to better understand how climate change is affecting their food sources.

During the session, attendees will hear from previous ISCE Scholars and can ask questions about the program, application process, and award details. The Scholars Program provides up to $30,000 in support for early-stage social science–related research projects, with optional letters of intent due February 2 and full proposals due February 17.

Opening the Door to Science for All , redirectProfessor Ashley Dayer from the Department of Fish and Wildlife Conservation has published new research that explores how Project FeederWatch, a long running program that invites people to observe and report birds in their own backyards, can welcome a broader community of participants. Working with colleagues from several universities, her team identified practical ways to make the program more inclusive for those who enjoy feeding and watching birds. This work was strengthened by early support from the Institute for Society, Culture, and Environment.
