Senior Robotics Hardware Engineer
Do you want to own real hardware, not just contribute to it?
Curious about building next-gen actuators, grippers, and human-robot interfaces from the ground up?
One of our long-standing robotics partners is scaling their AI-driven industrial automation platform - and they’re now building the next generation of their robotic system.
They’re looking for a Senior Robotics Hardware Engineer to take end-to-end ownership of key subsystems and translate high-level product concepts into robust, manufacturable hardware.
This goes beyond prototyping - you’ll architect, build, and steer core hardware components of the next robot platform, working closely with software, autonomy, and external engineering partners.
Your role:
- Full ownership of the design, concept, development, and validation of critical hardware components (grippers, actuators & teaching interfaces)
- Design and prototype next-gen actuator concepts (QDD, backdrivable systems, etc.)
- Take designs from early concept through to manufacturable hardware
- Define subsystem architecture and integrate with control, perception, and autonomy systems
- Working closely with external design and DFM partners
- Getting hands-on with prototypes - build, test, iterate
- Make technical decisions that directly shape the product
This is end-to-end hardware ownership, not a narrow design role.
Your background:
- Strong background in robotics hardware, mechatronics, or mechanical engineering
- Experience owning hardware systems from concept through validation (production exposure ideal)
- Solid CAD skills (SolidWorks or similar), including DFM and tolerancing
- Actuator experience is a strong plus (BLDC, gear systems, torque sensing, etc.)
- Strong system-level thinking across mechanics, electronics, and control.
- Comfort working cross-functionally across controls, software, and product
On-site working in Munich.
Salary up to €90,000 + stocks + bonus + benefits.
Apply now for immediate consideration! If you want to build core robotics hardware and see it deployed in real environments. . . then look no further. This is your chance to join a fast-growing, tech-driven organisation transforming European manufacturing.

Forward Deployed Engineer
Location: Los Angeles (Preferred), New York, Seattle, Austin
Compensation: Up to $225,000 Base + Equity + Comprehensive Benefits
We're working with one of the most exciting engineering startups in the US as they continue to build out their Forward Deployed Engineering team.
This isn't a traditional software engineering role.
It's designed for engineers who enjoy solving complex technical problems alongside customers, influencing product direction, and shipping production code that has an immediate impact.
If you're looking for ownership, variety and the opportunity to bridge engineering, product and customer success, this is one of the strongest opportunities currently available.
The Role
As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you'll own customer outcomes from initial deployment through long-term success.
You'll spend time working directly with engineering teams, understanding their technical challenges, identifying opportunities, and building production-ready solutions that solve real problems.
Many of the solutions you build will evolve into core product functionality used across the entire customer base.
You'll operate at the intersection of software engineering, product management and customer engagement, giving you significantly more ownership than a traditional engineering role.
Travel is an important part of the position, typically around 25 to 30% of your time, with occasional periods closer to 50%. Most travel consists of short customer visits lasting a few days.
What You'll Be Working With
The team hires exceptional engineers first and is largely language agnostic.
Their technology stack includes modern backend and frontend technologies, with opportunities to work across the full stack depending on customer requirements.
Engineers who enjoy working across multiple parts of a system tend to thrive in this environment.
What They're Looking For
You'll likely have:
-
A few years of professional software engineering experience
-
Experience shipping and owning production software
-
Strong coding fundamentals
-
Experience building products in fast-moving environments
-
Confidence working directly with customers and cross-functional teams
-
A passion for solving ambiguous engineering problems
-
A desire to influence both product and technical direction
The strongest candidates are able to clearly explain:
-
What they personally built
-
Why they built it
-
The impact it delivered
-
The technical decisions they made
-
How user or customer feedback influenced their work
What Makes This Different?
Most software engineering roles ask you to build features.
This role asks you to solve customer problems.
You'll work directly with users, influence the product roadmap, and own projects from the first customer conversation through to production deployment.
It's an opportunity to combine software engineering, product thinking and customer interaction without moving away from hands-on engineering.
Interview Process
The process consists of:
-
Recruiter conversation
-
Technical coding interview
-
Half-day onsite including:
-
Product demonstration
-
Coding interview
-
System design interview
-
Debugging and pair programming session
-
Behavioural and customer-focused interview
-
Hiring Manager discussion
-
-
Final Founder conversation
Compensation & Benefits
-
Up to $225,000 base salary
-
Equity
-
Comprehensive benefits package
-
Sign-on bonus available where appropriate
If you're an engineer who enjoys building production software, working directly with customers and wants to own problems from start to finish, I'd be happy to tell you more.
