Congratulations to Eric Fort, an architectural engineering student from the University of Cincinnati, who was recently awarded the 2026–2027 David C. J. Peters scholarship. "I hope to become an engineer who can bridge technical knowledge with practical project and client needs. This scholarship will help me continue pursuing the education and professional opportunities that move me towards this goal." A MESSAGE FROM 2026-27 ASHRAE PRESIDENT: Sarah E. Maston, P.E., BCxP, LEED AP ⚽ The ASHRAE Region XV CRC was a jam-packed event hosted by the ASHRAE Chennai Chapter at a seaside resort in Trivandrum. There was a full day of technical programs focused on AI and data centers, a very engaging industry roundtable with business leaders and design professionals, a WIA breakfast, as well as updates on chapter and regional engagement. In the evenings, we were entertained with Bollywood karaoke, a cultural performance, and a local band. And the food!!! Every dinner was buffet style with many, many dishes to choose from. Between events, we traveled to the Bengaluru Chapter to meet with students and local companies to talk about ASHRAE’s role in the region. It was a very busy, but productive time in India!

A MESSAGE FROM 2026-27 ASHRAE PRESIDENT: Sarah E. Maston, P.E., BCxP, LEED AP ⚽ ASHRAE Region XIV Europe contains a unique combination of cultures and religions. This year’s CRC was held in Timisoara, Romania and included a true blend of Romanian, Serbian and Hungarian traditions. On our first day, we met with different local councils and governments. They were very interested in our focus on existing buildings this year, as the renovation of historic or heritage buildings is a major concern for them. Also as part of the CRC, there was a full day of technical programs and a product showcase, as well as business meetings, a tour of a new hospital, a tour and dinner at a local winery, and a formal gala dinner. There were also multiple opportunities to take in local history, including a Welcome Party at the Water Museum and a walking tour of the city. I was able to meet so many members and learn more about the opportunities and challenges in the region. The passion for ASHRAE and ability to lead change is strong here! Congrats to all of the volunteers for a fantastic event that spotlighted all that Romania has to offer.
