The decision by Ontario and Ontario Power Generation to advance Pickering’s life extension is enabling hundreds of people in the province to build rewarding careers in the nuclear industry. Producing 48 steam generators for Pickering is important work for us. In fact, it has spurred an $80 million investment in BWXT’s Cambridge plant, the largest manufacturing facility of its kind in North America for commercial reactor components, and created opportunities for more than 200 new skilled workers and professional staff.

The recent core barrel installation for #ProjectPele marks a significant step forward in strengthening our deployable nuclear power capabilities. This milestone was made possible by a dedicated team of more than 150 highly skilled professionals in Lynchburg, VA, whose expertise demonstrates the disciplined execution and craftsmanship required to advance critical nuclear technologies.   Pele is engineered to deliver mission‑critical power to remote military locations within 72 hours, sustaining operations for three years without refueling. Achieving reliable energy in remote, austere environments requires both advanced technology and exceptional people bringing deep nuclear expertise to every step of the process.   This achievement reflects the highly skilled trades, professional excellence and commitment our teams bring as we expand capabilities that will support the next generation of nuclear systems. This week, BWXT participated in the annual National Cleanup Workshop, focused on “Powering and Securing the Future Through Restoration and Revitalization.” BWXT Technical Services Group President Heatherly Dukes and Deputy Candice Robertson joined discussions on artificial intelligence, new energy development at DOE sites, and leadership perspectives on cleanup work nationwide. Workshops like these help advance the work of cleaning up federal land and preparing sites to support the advanced nuclear energy and AI infrastructure projects of the future. By connecting industry, government and local stakeholders, the event showcased how restored sites can become platforms for innovation, resilience and long-term value. Thank you to the Energy Communities Alliance, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) and Energy Facility Contractors Group (EFCOG) for facilitating two days of meaningful dialogue and collaboration. As cleanup advances, BWXT remains focused on helping customers turn revitalized land into strategic assets.

We joined the 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb at Bristol Motor Speedway to honor the 343 firefighters who gave their lives on September 11. Carrying the names and photos of fallen first responders, our team climbed 110 flights in recognition of their courage and the duty they upheld. This event continues to be meaningful for many of us, including BWXT security member, Chad Nelson, who completed his tenth consecutive climb. We’re grateful to every employee and volunteer who participated or supported the memorial. Your commitment helps us preserve the legacy of those who served.

The Tri‑Cities St. Jude Walk in Johnson City brought the community together in a meaningful way, and our team was glad to be part of it. Families in the region rely on the St. Jude Tri‑Cities Affiliate Clinic at Niswonger Children’s Hospital for specialized cancer and blood‑disorder care. Today, we remember the lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders and all those who stepped forward to serve in the days that followed. Twenty-five years later, we continue our remembrance – along with the families, communities and heroes who were forever impacted that day. We honor their memory and the unity shown in the face of tragedy.

Major milestone! Today the BWXT Project Pele team and United States government project stakeholders completed installation of the core barrel – marking completion of yet another critical step in the assembly of the Pele reactor.
