Hi Everyone - I’m thrilled to be representing Capital One by delivering a main stage talk at the 2026 Grace Hopper Celebration hosted by AnitaB.org! On October 28 at 2:35pm PT, I’ll be presenting, “Stop Waiting for Opportunities: Learn How to Ask for What You Want at Work” I grew up in a “guess culture” where asking for something was often avoided unless a "yes" was likely. It was considered rude to force a "no." This contrasts sharply with corporate "ask culture," where not asking can mean missing out on opportunities. In my session, I will share learnable skills to ask for needs across several dimensions: professional development, leadership opportunities, strategic career moves, technical upskilling, project and resource management, and work-life balance. Participants will leave with a concrete framework and a "flip-book" of asking scripts for various work situations.
