It's great to post high IRRs. It's better to see the money come back. Mark Anson, Chief Executive Officer of Commonfund, joined Courtney McQuade from the Sidelines of ALTSSF. Distributions have slowed across private equity. Anson says that always reverses, but in the meantime the yield sits somewhere else: private credit, and not just direct lending. Litigation finance. Aircraft leasing. Asset-based. Shadow banking, as he puts it, is "long since now out of the shadows." He's interviewing Jack Neumark of Fortress Investment Group on stage shortly, and what he wants to know is what asset-based lending actually means. Everyone uses it.
