IN THE NEWS: Cooper University Health Care, EnableHealth LLC, Society of Physician Entrepreneurs, Princeton University, and Princeton Innovation Center BioLabs today announced Medlantic, a first-of-its-kind Mid-Atlantic showcase dedicated to medtech and health care innovation. Scheduled for Tuesday, July 14, 2026, at Princeton Innovation Center BioLabs, Medlantic will convene 150 senior leaders—including health system CIOs, medtech founders, investors, and policy leaders—for an intentionally curated, high-impact forum designed to accelerate partnerships, investment, and discovery across the region. Medlantic arrives at a pivotal moment for the health care innovation economy. According to Ernst & Young’s 2025 Pulse of the MedTech Industry report, global medtech revenues reached $584 billion in 2025, marking the sector’s seventh consecutive year of top-line growth, with industry leaders projecting an additional 6-7% revenue increase in the year ahead. Regionally, New Jersey stands as a cornerstone of the national health care ecosystem: its 71 acute care hospitals generate $31.4 billion in annual economic impact and support nearly 160,000 health care jobs, underscoring the Mid-Atlantic’s outsized role in shaping the future of health care delivery, technology, and commercialization. “The Mid-Atlantic region is already a global leader in generating the next generation of health care solutions,” said Michael Kirchhoff, MD, chief innovation officer at Cooper University Health Care. “The Medlantic MedTech Showcase will provide the connective tissue needed to translate those ideas into scalable products and services that improve patient outcomes, strengthen our health systems, and create durable value for the region’s innovation economy.” Medlantic is purpose-built for senior health care leaders and emerging innovators driving the next wave of medtech, AI, and digital health transformation. The event’s Startup Founder Package is tailored specifically for early-stage medtech and AI companies, compressing months of business development, relationship-building, and market exposure into a single, high-yield day. Participants gain direct access to health system decision-makers, active investors, and key policy influencers—all in one setting. “Medlantic was designed to meaningfully connect medtech startups with investors and strategic partners,” said Neal Lemon, PhD, MBA, associate vice president of innovation at Cooper University Health Care and Rowan University. “Given the depth of innovation already present in the Mid-Atlantic, this region is positioned for accelerated growth—and Medlantic is built to help catalyze that momentum.” Event details and full press release: https://bit.ly/4f7j6jx

Preventive care is one of the most powerful tools for maintaining long-term health. For men over 50, routine checkups provide an opportunity to discuss important topics such as heart disease risk, cancer screenings, and other age-related health concerns before problems arise. Regular blood work and recommended screenings can play a critical role in early detection and prevention. In recognition of Men's Health Month, we're highlighting five key questions every man over 50 should ask during their next appointment to help support informed health decisions and better outcomes: ❤️ How’s my heart health? Heart disease remains the leading cause of death among men in the United States. Even if you feel perfectly healthy, conditions like high blood pressure, high cholesterol, and diabetes can develop silently over time. 🎗️ Should I be screened for cancer? Cancer screenings save lives. Ask your doctor which tests are right for you based on your age, family history, and lifestyle. 🍎 How’s my weight? Your weight isn’t just a number – it’s a reflection of your overall health. Carrying extra pounds, especially around the belly, can raise your risk for heart disease, diabetes, and certain cancers. 💤 Am I getting enough sleep? No amount of caffeine or supplements can replace the benefits of a good night’s sleep. If you’re snoring loudly, waking up tired, or relying on energy drinks to power through the day, it’s time to talk to your doctor. 🧠 How’s my mental health? It’s not always easy for men to talk about stress, anxiety, or depression, but mental health is a vital part of overall well-being. If you’re feeling withdrawn, irritable, or losing interest in things you used to enjoy, talk with your doctor. 🔎 ALSO: Watch for subtle signs. Even small changes in your body can signal that something’s off. Don’t ignore these signs – they’re worth bringing up at your next check-up: • Chronic heartburn or indigestion. • Frequent urination or weak urine stream. • Persistent cough or shortness of breath. • Unexplained weight loss or gain. • Changes in bowel habits. • Erectile dysfunction. • New or changing moles. 📌 Save this post for future reference and share it with colleagues, friends, and family members who may benefit from the reminder.
