Announcing OpenSharing SecureConnect to simplify networking configuration for data sharing OpenSharing introduces a Databricks-managed proxy for storage access. Providers configure storage access once, making it easier to onboard new recipients without the firewall changes and network coordination that often slow down data sharing. Optionally, data providers can use NCC for SecureConnect to access provider storage over private connectivity. Now in Public Preview. https://lnkd.in/gR6gsAdK

Stanford University is the 2026 Databricks Grounded Reasoning Cup champion! 🏆 The inaugural Grounded Reasoning Cup at #DataAISummit 2026 is in the books, with Stanford taking 1st, UMass Amherst earning 2nd, and Yale University securing 3rd after six high-intensity rounds of live AI agent competition over 200+ years of U.S. Treasury data. Teams mentored by Anthropic, OpenAI, and Google DeepMind built agents that tackled messy historical PDFs, multimodal chart interpretation, and web-augmented reasoning on real government data. Thank you to USAFacts, the U.S. Treasury, our student teams from 11 universities, and everyone who joined live.

Databricks and NVIDIA are expanding our collaboration to help customers build, deploy, and govern AI on enterprise data. New capabilities across the platform include multinode training in AI Runtime, GPU support in Databricks Free Edition, model serving enhancements, and support for NVIDIA technologies such as NVIDIA Agent Toolkit. Customers can also leverage NVIDIA's industry-specific AI frameworks directly within Databricks to accelerate use cases across healthcare, life sciences, supply chain, robotics, digital twins, and document intelligence. Together, we're bringing more of the AI stack into a unified platform for training, inference, and agentic AI. https://lnkd.in/gPXh_vdB

Apps on Databricks Marketplace are now in Public Preview. This is a new way for organizations to discover, deploy, and use data and AI applications. Instead of moving data to an application, the application comes to the data. Organizations can now install and run third-party apps directly inside their Databricks workspaces, where applications operate within secure, governed environments. For providers, Apps on Marketplace create a new way to securely distribute and monetize data and AI applications across thousands of Databricks customers worldwide. https://lnkd.in/g2A3Pehh

"Ali Ghodsi wants to rebuild the stack itself," writes Victor Dey for Forbes. For 40 years, every data stack has carried the same split: one set of systems to run the business, another to analyze it. The real bottleneck for agentic AI isn't model intelligence. It's that divide. At #DataAISummit, we introduced LTAP (Lake Transactional/Analytical Processing): both transactional and analytical engines running on a single copy of data, in an open format. One data, zero compromises, zero copies. It's built on Lakebase, our serverless Postgres database. Across the platform, agents now create roughly 80% of databases. "Our primary user is already the agent," says Databricks co-founder and CEO Ali Ghodsi. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/g-cH4wxG
