This is what an employee growth plan looks like when it’s real. Cashier to Senior Executive Vice President. Business development to Chief of Staff. Designer to Lead Creative Director. One company. One life. Unlimited opportunities and directions to explore. We talk a lot about employee loyalty, but loyalty isn’t something a company can demand. It has to be earned. -Give people a real path forward. -Recognize what they’re capable of. -Keep creating opportunities for them to learn, lead, and grow. When talented people can see a future inside the company, they don’t have to leave to build one. That’s how you create loyalty. And that’s how a cashier can become a senior executive after 41 years. And that’s an environment we aiming to build here at Designity

I’ve been at Designity for 8 months now, and so far my favourite aspect of the job is the team, which is spread around the globe. I love it for many reasons, ranging from the unexpected insights cultural differences lead to, to the photos of exotic birds and even an iguana once that Laura Maria Bustamante Cortes takes from her window and sends me on Slack on a random Friday. We are now looking for a new addition to this global team – a fully remote Creative Director. If you are a creative leader with equal interest in the big picture and the tiny details, this job might be the perfect fit for you. Check out the full description and apply here: https://lnkd.in/dkUTH3cF And if somebody came to mind while you were reading this post, don’t hesitate to refer them through our paid referral program here: https://lnkd.in/di4tsmwg I can’t wait to see which corner of the world our next teammate joins us from (and if you have cool birds) 🌍

  • One brief. Three Puffs. Three completely different creative directions. 👀 The brief was to create an NFL Happy Meal to celebrate the start of the season. 🏈🍟 We gave the puffers the same product and objective, and they came back with three very different ways to bring it to life. If you were the creative director, which direction would you choose: the strategist, the artist, or the wildcard? 👇

Ah man. Does anyone else feel like they’re reviewing AI’s first draft dressed up as someone’s final deliverable? Copy. Paste. Send. Apparently, that’s the whole workflow now. Listen, I’m a big fan of AI. I use it every day. But I still try to use my own brain to make the final decisions and before putting my name on the result. And you should too. What frustrates me and I'm sure you is receiving work that clearly hasn’t been questioned. It sounds and looks polished, but misses the point. The recommendations could apply to any company. You saved yourself 30 minutes and handed someone else an hour of cleanup, not fair. Now it gets interesting 😅 Then there’s the opposite extreme. People acting like it’s 1980, staring at a blank Google Doc and writing everything line by line without even considering AI to brainstorm, challenge an idea, or get a first draft moving. Honestly, that might be even more annoying. We have tools that can help us think through a problem faster, and some people are treating doing everything manually as a badge of honor. Nobody’s handing out medals for spending four hours on something you could have done well in one hours. I want people to use AI and bring their own judgment to the work. Explore more ideas. Question the recommendations. Add the context the tool doesn’t have. Rewrite the parts that sound good but say nothing. The expectation should rise when we have better tools. We should be getting more thoughtful work, faster. Good news is it's easy to fix this. Before you hit send, ask yourself: Does this solve the actual problem, and do I stand behind it? Whether you wrote every word yourself or worked with AI, your name is on the deliverable. Own it.

We're at #DMWF North America in NYC today, and the Javits Center is buzzing! 🔥 Great energy on the floor (even greater energy from our Head of Growth Durga Kudumula), with sharp conversations on marketing, AI, content, and brand strategy. Lots to take away from AI in Advertising with Courtney C. (moderator), Zach Riggar (Major League Soccer) Lacey Tompkins (dentsu), Sarp Tuncay (Retail Media & Omnichannel Commerce Leader), Matt Barnes (The Walt Disney Company), and Evan Pease (Quantcast). Plus, great perspectives on AI and human creativity from Kerrie Lopez and Julie Kutchin (Reddit, Inc.), Jae Hahn (Novartis), Natasha Hritzuk (Warner Bros. Discovery), Roxana Zegan (Brooklinen), Sophie Naufal (Pearson), Jason Moriber (Medtronic), and Nick Hessler (Gradial). Exactly the content we came for. At DMWF too? Come say hi to Designity's Head of Growth Marketing, Durga Kudumula. He has a remedy for your creative headaches handy. 😉 See you on the floor!

After a very busy last couple of weeks and finally having time to catch my breath, I realized I never really took a moment to celebrate this win. I won a Designity Award. 🏆💻 And saying that out loud still feels a little surreal. Creative careers move fast. One project ends, another deadline appears, and somehow you’re already thinking about what’s next before you’ve had a chance to appreciate what you just accomplished. Sometimes you’re so busy building that you forget to look back at how far you’ve already come. This made me look back: At the years of showing up.
The late nights.
The self-doubt.
The ideas that worked and the ones that taught me something along the way.
The tiny details I obsessed over because I cared, even when no one else would ever notice. And most importantly, all the times I chose to keep betting on myself. There are moments in this career when you wonder if the work is being seen. If you’re growing enough. If all that heart you keep pouring into the craft is actually leading somewhere. Then something like this lands in your mailbox. And quietly says, 𝘬𝘦𝘦𝘱 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨. ✨ Awards don’t define the designer, and they will never be the reason I create but this one means something to me. It reminds me that I’m not just chasing the designer I want to become: I’m already becoming her. So I’m letting myself say this without immediately moving on to the next thing: I’m really damn proud of myself. 💕 Thank you to Designity for the recognition, to whoever nominated me, and to every talented person I’ve been lucky enough to collaborate with. I’m truly grateful for everything that brought me here and even more excited for everything still ahead. ✨
